First week of sales is gonna be hard for Splatoon 2 beat Yokay Watch 2.

Yokai Watch 2 sold around 1.3 million first week.

With the current trend, Switch will probabily be in the 1.7-2 million range during the Splatoon launch week. Of course Splatoon is gonna have an insane attach rate, but for beat Yokay Watch 2 it should have an attach rate of 65-75% ONLY in one week. Don't know, is possible, but would be insane if that's happen, i know many Japanese already bought Switch only for Splatoon, but some people also should wait the August holidays.

Lifetime... yes, no fucking way Splatoon 2 sells less than Yokai Watch 2. At this point, 5 million is starting to looks like a pecsimist prediction, AND before someone tell me that's not gonna happen, i was thinking 5 million lifetime with 500k first week. Now we are looking at one million sold only first week, so...

I don't really get the Yokai Watch 2 comparison. That game launched 3 years into the 3DS's life. It sold over 1.3 million first week. That's practically impossible for Splatoon 2 to manage just a few months after the Switch launch.

For comparison, Monster Hunter 3G released mid-Holiday season like 10 months after the 3DS launched, and sold about 525k first week. Mario Kart 7 was around 430k first week. It's hard to imagine Splatoon 2 can beat either of those!

I don't know how they fared on COMG though.

I'm starting to think Splatoon to Japan is what Zelda has been to the West. I didn't think it was this big!
