There is no evidence for your claim that FF products don´t do well in the west since XIII launched. Every FF mobile game is a sucess, every remaster sells well, the FF13 re-release on Steam sold 600k copies (the entire 13 franchise should be above 1M on Steam by now) and it released years after the launch of the game. Pretty much the only games that decreased in sales where continuations of XIII or games SE didn´t put much effort into (as FF Explorers for example).
The fanbase is very clearly still there and XV has a very fair shot at boosting the franchise. I´m not saying it will do that, but there is nothing indicating it will do worse than 13 and also nothing indicating it will do better than 13. The only accurate (I wouldn´t even call COMG numbers accurate, for any game) numbers we have are the ones getting posted here.
