NO MORE EA - PLEASE STOP

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

You'd think PC fans would have the most reason to hate them after NIntendo fans. I don't think i've ever seen a word spoken in favor of Origin.

This is a no apologies thread on the real reason why Nintendo fans seem to dislike EA, and there are many reasons to do it.

Firstly and probably the main reason is the PR bullshit. Why is this the main reason? It should be really simple to understand, no one likes to be bullshitted by anyone, because the person doing the bullshitting has to have the arrogance that they can get away with (and nobody likes arrogance) and if the person who is being BS knows that they are being BS then they automatically think that the person doing the BSing thinks they are stupid or of lesser intelligence (which the person doing the BSing has to think), so we end up with an arrogant person who thinks you are stupid. Fact of the matter is no one likes to be fed BS, no one likes when politicians bullshit them, when salesmen bullshit them or even when their parents bullshit, so why all of a sudden should EA bullshit be accepted.

Secondly is the baiting, why talk about unprecedented support then release little to no games on the system, to me this is the equivalent of flame bait threads and a user can be banned for something like that on vgchart. Lets say for example that someone did spend their money on a wiiU expecting to play their favorite EA games then EA turns their back on them, I think they would have a very valid reason to be upset, again no one likes to be baited.

Just look on this site many users favorite post are " I am reporting this thread", because somehow they are offended by internet threads that take jabs or jokes about their favorite console or bait threads. But someone who has actually spent their hard earn money should not take offense from a company that baited them, that is just ridiculous. Do you think they should be jumping for joy?

Thirdly look at the quality of the games released by EA and did anyone expect better sales from these games, ME 3 port no trilogy, gimped Madden, Fifa 12. Now if the early adopters of the wiiU are long time Nintendo fans who have been there since the Nes days which probably averages an age of 25 and up (just look at the average age of Nintendo fans on this site) you think they would not know if they were getting a quality game from a poorly rushed port, or a good deal from bad deal. You really think the average Nintendo fan would not recognize these things (which ties back to my first point of being BS). Oh but Most Wanted, anybody that has been playing NFS since the late 90's till this day like myself can tell you about that Most wanted game.

Now as for my personal opinion on the whole EA vs Nintendo matter, I believe EA as a company has right to do what it wants, if they don't want to support Nintendo they are totally free to do so. It is Nintendo I believe were either too naive or too stupid to think that they could have gotten unprecedented support from a western developer. The west would first support a western base console and let the console from the east die for obvious economic reasons.

However Nintendo is not Sega, or Sony or MS where 3rd parties can make or break their consoles, that is not to say that Nintendo can support a console all on their own what they have to do is strengthen their relationship with Japanese developers because if they lose them well.

agree

I am a Wii U owner and will miss their support as a whole for the console but as for thier games themselves the only 1 i can really say i like and will buy for another console is Dragon Age 3 but if its anything like the 2nd one then that could change as well. Army of Two and Dark Space(could be dead after the last entry though) are others i will miss now that i think about it.

The only sports games i play are NBA and 2K has that series locked down as far as being the better title.

I love RPGs but for some reason didnt care for Mass Effect only Dragon Age (Era setting mostly why)

Not into the military shooters really like in the COD and BF type games so wont miss BF.

But i can see where these games could as a whole help the sales greatly of the Wii U so i will miss them as a whole.

Sega fan hated them back in the day for the exact same reason. If the machine is inferior, do you really blame them for wasting resources on a product that just isn't going to sell.

I'm a Nintendo fan and the reason I don't like them was because of a move that affected mainly PC games....

:(

I am a Nintendo and PC gamer and all they've done last gen is burn me :(

I think this argument is flawed in the premise. I am a Nintendo fan and I don't hate EA. In fact, I quite like their Maxis label games and am a very long time SimCity fan.

Are you still a SimCity fan, despite the last three games being rather shite? I know I'm not any more.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

Nintendo fans shouldn't have expected to get the Mass Effect Trilogy, though it's clear why they do. The reason behind the PS3 getting the Mass Effect Trilogy is when EA first brought the series to the system, the second game sold well. The third game released and on the PS3 it also sold well. So they have a huge fanbase on one console that hasn't played the first one, so it's obvious why they ported it.

Because they ported the original over to the PS3, Nintendo fans expect them to do the same on the Wii U? Mass Effect 3 only sold 50,000. If it sold half a million or a million then you might have seen a port, but be realistic.

Assassin's Creed 3 is at the very end of the storyline and you really have no real idea of the story other than templars versus assassins. No complaints of the remainder of that series. The only reason the complaints are being thrown at EA is because it's another convenient excuse to use to hate on the publisher, and by convenient, I mean baseless.

EA is also not the only one pulling game support from the Wii U. NBA 2K was mentioned in this thread so I'll point out 2K Sports. MLB 2K13 was released in March of this year and didn't make an appearance on the Wii U. NBA 2K13 only sold 10,000 so that could very well be the reason. Tecmo Koei hasn't announced anything Wii U, but has been announcing and releasing PS360 and Vita titles. Square Enix has been announcing titles for everything but the Wii U, Namco Bandai is working on Super Smash Bros Universe but no games of their own.  4A's cancellation of Metro Last Light.  While retailers have posted it, Activision only mentioned the PS360 and PC when announcing Call of Duty Ghosts.

So yeah. Not just EA. Just about every publisher that has developed for the Wii U but has got poor sales has been avoiding the console. EA has supported the console more than any publisher and has continued to support it when the others have dropped out long ago. Now EA isn't supporting Wii U either until console sales pick up and people use it as another excuse to hate on EA. Atleast Nintendo has Ubisoft. They're still supporting the Wii U.
