My friend and I both live in Toronto, but we both ordered the game online and didn't get the artbook. I didn't realize there was one until month later.

Maybe, but with XenoBlade Chronicles, my friend and I both got the artbook and he ordered online, while I picked up from a small retailer locally.

Next time I'll be sure to pick up at a retailer, but for now because I'm a huge FE fan, I will pay $20 for an 8 page book.....

It's okay because I recently sold $300 worth of games on eBay, so I'm kinda trading Persona 3 for this LOL.

If you want one, you better buy it soon off eBay. Prices were $15 or so (with shipping) a month ago, a week ago it was $20, and now I'm seeing copies sell for $25-$30.....

The problem here is certainly not Nintendo. 

Depends on the game, but in a lot of cases recently (especially with Gamestop) that is the case.

I'm almost certain that Pre-Order bonuses aren't decided by the company who actually developed the game. The retailer who sells the game decides to include a Pre-Order bonus. You probably should be more mad at the retailer you bought this from than Nintendo.

Pre-Order bonuses are a mess here in Holland anyway. This store gets that, the other gets this and the third gets nothing at all. I had to pre-order my Luigi's Mansion at a toy-store (after doing a day's worth of research to find it) because my dedicated videogame-store didn't have the Boo stress-ball.

I don't exactly know how it all works, but you probably just bought it at the 'wrong' store .

I got the 3DS XL bundle, and didn't get an artbook despite it saying in the door "come in to get your free Fire Emblem Artbook!"

I was too excited at the time to realise though.

Well be happy. Europe didnt get a preorder bonus at all plus the game costs more here plus the conversations are censored here
