Forums - Nintendo - The only shovelware released by NIntendo in recent years

Are all shovelware titles Nintendo released for the Wii?
I know the Wii is infamous for shovelware, but it's sad to remember that Nintendo was also releasing a bunch of crap themselves. Truly sad.

Not really, people tend to forget or ignore that those games do sell well considering how cheap they are to make, it doesnt do wonders for the image among certain gamers but screw it.

what about that Link crossbow nonsense?

That damn thing sold more than most mainline Zelda titles.

That's sad? To be fair i avoided it, i bought that zapper thing used from gamestop

It's a surprisingly fun game, to the point that I have often thought I would pay for a more fleshed out campaign.... chasing down moblins was fun!

Ill take your word for it, im not in a position to judge

The free roaming parts are what I was talking about.... it was very solid mechanically, and the actual light gun boss fights were also VERY well done.  Like I said, it was a surprisingly well put together game, espcially compared to some of the games Nintendo bundles with it's accessories.

63% is still far above 44%. Wii Musci was seen as very subpar, but not complete disaster.

Doesn't negate that the game is in fact terrible.

What makes it worse is that they actively tried to incorporate it into schools.

Fool! Wii Music is legendary, and a very impressive title. It is a software title that is truely timeless as the 'gameplay' is solely based on your own creativity. It can never get old, that is if you're willing to put anything of yourself into enjoying the title.

Banging pots and pans or turned over garbage pails is much more enjoyable.

Playing icehockey is more enjoyable than playing NHL 13, still doesn't have any bearing on the quality or lack thereof of the game

So, I'm going to stop defending Link's Crossbow Training now... not sure how that happened, it's not like it was one of my favortie games last gen or anything.  I just thought it had potential, and it was pretty long.  It had nine levels, and each level was split up into three parts.  There was a typical light gun stage, a free roaming kill the hoards stage, and a boss fight.  Here's a an example of one of the bosses:

Cross bow should be an item in the next Zelda, turn the open world parts of the game into Gears of War, lol.

Wouldn't you have to have a whole lot of random tree stumps and rocks to hide behind then?

Almost forgot this one:

Everything about it felt half-assed.  Graphics, story, gameplay.  All sub-par.   Much better 3rd party kids titles out.

Pokepark 2 (how it got a sequel is beyond me) is better but actually rated lower.

Sorry but I cant agree with this, is a pretty fun, charismatic and cute game and its intended audience are little kids but anyone can enjoy it like I did(I 100% it and Im actually playing the second)
