Forums - Nintendo - The only shovelware released by NIntendo in recent years

Nintendo maintains usually an excellente standard for its game, and even more for its big licences and always their games end up being top class in term of quality with some of the very best games of all the videogames markets.

Nintendo has very few failures quality wise compared to the other editors, but there was an exception on Wii.

That game hit retails, had a big Nintendo licence and was simply awful, averaging 44/100 at Gamerankings.

I am still surprised Nintendo allowed such a poor game to be released.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

63% is still far above 44%. Wii Musci was seen as very subpar, but not complete disaster.

Over 3 million units sold. It is a disaster. For Nintendo.

Doesn't negate that the game is in fact terrible.

What makes it worse is that they actively tried to incorporate it into schools.

I tried to think of something worst then Barrel Blast but got nothing.

 Metacritic 48%

Ugh.  Just Ugh.   should have been WiiWare - if at all.

 Metacritic 60%

Wii Play motion had a couple decent offerings but was mostly garbage even compared against the original Wii Play.

Fool! Wii Music is legendary, and a very impressive title. It is a software title that is truely timeless as the 'gameplay' is solely based on your own creativity. It can never get old, that is if you're willing to put anything of yourself into enjoying the title.

I have Donkey Kong Barrel Blast. The production value is very low.

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.
