It's like the "are you smarter than a 5th grader" show.

They are asking fifth graders questions that they are learning at the moment, meanwhile asking adults quesitons that they havne't seen in 30 years.

I think the school systems should look at that show and realize, "why the F are we teaching these kids these things when they never use them the rest of their life"    These Doctors, and so on other smart college graduates who are considered the smartest proffesions in the world dont' seem to remember a damn thing taught to them in the 5th grade.

The criteria needs to change.

There's a lot of room for improvement, obviously, but I think there's value in a general education that prepares you for more specified learning later on and gives you a broader understanding of the world. At an young age it's good to learn how to learn, even if you forget a lot of the specifics later in life. The more pressing issue with education would seem to be, "Is it really a good idea for people to take years off of their working lives to attend the social club known as 'college', frequently walking away with no marketable skills and a ton of debt?"

Kind of a pointless quiz

Be more interesting if it was more relevant questions.

Kind of felt like I was taking a quiz to see how many random facts I knew that I would never use in my entire life. I guess it's science based, but hardly a "are you smarter than an American" quiz.

Should be more relevent things. like "who is the president" "what is your states capital?" ect. Things that you would assume EVERYONE shoudl know, but somehow there are a crap load of people that have no clue.  Also what did these questions have to do with americans?  these are all questions that pertain to everyone in the world.  Make the quiz american oriented if the study is labeled as such.

oh and I guess before someone quotes me to just say I'm and idiot, I got 12/13

even if you had 0/13, that does not means you are an idiot at all.  This test like many IQs tests, only meassure the knowledge you have and not how inteligent you are.

It's not necessary to post your results. Someone already posted the correct answers and they won't change.

They need to narrow college down to be more specific.

Half a college grads classes have absolutely zero value to his job later in life.  What does an accountant need Biology or History of Music for?

By the time you get ot college you should be only taking classes that pertain to your career.  If they want kids to know basics in biology, chemestry, math, music, history, speech, ect that doesn't pertain to ones job field, then they shoudl have taught that in High School.  I mean you have all those classes in high school, so why did i have to take them again?  It's like their saying they don't trust high school to have taught you anything, and assume your school sucked.

Which is sort of a safe assumption, but yeah, there's way too much redundancy and wasted time generally.

13 out of 13

although i admit i had to look up what "Stickstoff" means in english because i wasn't sure

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

12 of 13. They were all easy questions, but that fracking one threw me off. I thought of the correct answer, but ended up second guessing myself.
