What are your pet peeves when it comes to games?

It could be a general thing or some particular things in a particular game.

For me, I guess the slow menus in FIFA 8/10 (only have those, PS3) come to mind when I think about rage inducing things that no one ever mentions. Especially during the transfer seasons the process that awaits you between matches is painful.

Modern PC games that don't let me remap actions to my mouse 4 and 5 buttons. *Shakes fist at RE6*

Having to unlock the highest difficulty.

It's my biggest gripe with Uncharted and some others especially when I have to play on the hardest one to get platinum. I don't want to play on the second hardest just to unlock the hardest. It's so annoying on that first playthrough when I'm thinking after getting every difficult checkpoint "that's going to be even harder next time and I'm going to have to do it all AGAIN!." If your game is good I'll replay it on easy in the future many times (as I've done with Uncharted and many others), but don't force me into another frustrating run as the satisfaction isn't even there on the second hardest because I know I've got to do it all again.

I don't know if this counts but I would say repetitive missions/gameplay.

The battle intro's and victory fanfare at Lost Odyssey. The first time you see them are great. After the 450th random encounter, you are just SICK OF THEM.

Losing your weapon and having to get it back via a stealth mission.

(Did they seriously think it was a good idea for the 2nd area of Wind Waker to have that so early right after you get the sword?)

Not being able to save and quit where ever I want.
Unskippable and unpausable cut scenes.

Female leads in games, I just cannot connect to them and don't find their overall resolve compelling. In FFXIII, when i got to pulse, i switched off all female characters and never used them again. I'll play a game with a female lead characters if there is no other option and the game itself is worth the time but I still feel somewhat disgruntled.
