Forums - Gaming Discussion - Looking for a platform to 'manage' my game collection

^ So this is your profile there, right? http://www.howlongtobeat.com/userpage.php?username=green_sky&show=allgames&sort=1 The site doesn't look bad. Best of those more simplistic sites I've seen so far (backloggery is just ugly imo).

Yep that's me. Pretty cool website. Close to 800 hours worth of backlog. It is not much compared to some of the gamers there but it certainly starts to feel like homework but games are meant to be fun so i'll take my time. End of generation is best time to catch up.

The best solution I've found is darkadia.com. Pretty too.

Some of the functionality is meh and harder to use, but that's not bad. I suppose it's an improvement on backloggery.

I use a program called Game Collector - it's not a website but it gets the job done nicely for me anyway

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

I take back what I said about darkadia. Their database isn't very complete. I have to skip games I own and I"m only on the C's (and it's modern warfare 2 for crying out loud!)

It's listed under M as Modern Warfare 2. Their database draws from Giantbomb's community wiki, which anyone can edit. The other Modern Warfare games are listed under C for Call of Duty.

Modern Warfare 2 actually officially dropped the 'Call of Duty' moniker: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/211880/call-of-duty-dropped-from-modern-warfare-2/ So the listing is correct.

their box art still says call of duty though. I remeber them trying to make modern warfare different from the treyarch games though

Still dumb as everyone will search for it under call of duty.

I can't believe someone would pay a yearly subscription for this though. Collectorz.com
