I often don't have very much fun re-playing games unless they're Zelda or Mario games. For this reason I worry about games being too short in length, because i almost never go back to play them again.

Ah. It wasn't. :)

Platinum games are always on the short side since their games are very arcadey, I am surprised that people are surprised about this tweet.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I'm fine with short but fun. Games that overstay their welcome tend to become a chore to finish.

Or how this could be spun into a bad thing. A game is good regardless of how long it is. MadWorld was easily 2.5-3 hours long and was still very good.
12 hours with minimal replay value is worth full price to me. Of course shorter games need better replay value. I am excited for this game but I will wait for the reviews to say how long it is and whether multiple play throughs are worth it.
I thought we where talking about a 6 hour game but 15 hours is very good these days.
still undecided about the game though

It depends on how much replayability has the game then. The original Dead Rising was merely 7 hours long, but the fact that you had to play multiple times to uncover everything gave it a boost up to 20-30 hours of gameplay. And those hours weren't of filler and tacked-on things.
So yeah, if the fun allows for replayability, then I wouldn't say lenght does not matter.

If I can complete a game in one sitting it isnt worth sixty dollars to me. Platinum Games titles should be sold at $30. As much as I think their games are fun and nonsensical it just doesnt make any sense to pay more than thirty dollars in todays society. |
I'd hardly call Vanquish short or low budget. It was awesome and gorgeous, and those graphics and production values don't come cheap. Can the story be completed quickly? Sure, if your good enough. But the game has loads of replay value, so who cares?

The CG was high budget the actual game was very arcadey. Lower budget to make than their competition in DMC and nowhere near GOW and Castlevania in development cost.
