Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Fatal Frame 4 REVEALED

Holy ****

You'll have to give me few minutes, I'm simply blown away. This is not what I need to be seeing right before classes.

EDIT: The game is produced and published by Nintendo? It is completely 100% Wii exclusive. Sorry anti-Wii fanboys.

Well Im confident on one thing, Fatal Frame 4 will trash Silent Hill V. I've lost all faith to the Silent Hill sequel knowing that "the collective" is behind it. Konami gave its horror franchise the kiss of death with that deal.

I actually think there's a good chance that The Collective will turn out something good with Silent Hill V.  Here's hoping, anyway.

Hates Nomura.

WOW, Im glad this game is looking so good because its on my to buy list.

Looks like third party support is coming, not just cheap cash in and porting but 3 partys putting top dev teams and strong franchise to make wii exclusives. First Capcom with Monster Hunters 3 and now Temco.

Suda 51 working on Fatla Frame

January 30, 2008 - Following Monster Hunter, the next series to make the big platform switch for the new generation is Tecmo's spooky Fatal Frame series. Tecmo held a press conference in Tokyo today to announce its upcoming lineup, and the biggest news was first details on the Wii version of Fatal Frame.

Titled in Japan "Rei: Tsukihami no Kamen," the new Fatal Frame game is a major collaborative effort for Tecmo. Nintendo will publish the game and is also lending its support on the development end. Key staff members include Keisuke Kikuchi as producer and Makoto Shibata as director, both veterans of the series. But joining Shibata in the director's cubicle is Grasshopper Manufacturer's Goichi Suda (aka Suda 51), who recently completed work on No More Heroes.

Although a two minute CG trailer was shown at the press conference, Tecmo kept the specifics to itself. Kikuchi did reveal that the key words for the game are "memory" and "moon," and "mask," and that the image color for the game is yellow. He also stated that he believes the Wiimote and the horror genre to be a perfect fit.

Nintendo exec Shinji Hatano was in attendance at the event and said "Nintendo will be handling sales, and we intend to actively promote [the game]." Hatano also confirmed a planned Japanese release for some time this Summer.

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

Hmmm... makes me want to buy the game. I've never played a Fatal Frame game before though, so will that affect me playing the new one? IE: is there a story line which I should know about?

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

If the 2nd and 3rd pics ARE in game, wow...

I also wonder if I need to go back and play the previous entries, I have not played any of this series yet. Are all 3 good, or is there  a standout?

BAM! There it is!
