When do you guys think Persona 5 will finally be announced?

I think there is a small chance Atlus will reveal it at this E3, although far more likely to wait for TGS or something.

I know this but the difference is that Persona series has become noticable, the MOST noticable of all their IPs. Persona 4 Golden was first revealed at E3 in PS Vita's Montage Trailer if I am not mistaken. Sony has obviously taken note of the series' attractiveness. I am also sure Atlus knows it now to. They might be swayed to reveal it at a bigger venue so it gets more attention than what they usually get.

Do you think it could come to the Wii U too (as a multiplatform title?) ? Atlus and Nintendo seem to be relatively close (with all those SMT and Etrian Odyssey games on the 3DS and SMT X FE on Wii U )

thb going Vita only would totally be a waste. The best thing would be to go multiplat.

Participating in the process of splitting the gamer community as a non-first-party-studio is totally stupid especially when the games are generic in terms of control input etc. Will a port be gimped gameplay-wise because system A lacks feature system B has and this feature is important for the game? if not go for it!

Seriously I would prefer having more money to buy more games than being forced to buy another console to play the exclusives I want to play.
(and when it comes to Sony the only exclusives I really care about are not first party. Its not that I dont own Uncharted etc but those games are clearly not the reason I buy Sony consoles. They are certainly not the reason people started to buy Sony consoles to begin with. It was because of exclusives like Square games etc..)

If it goes single plat I guess it would be the PS3. Ps4 would not make sense would result in a small userbase and would be to risky.  And since japanese games especially RPGs rely more on gameplay and charme than they do on horsepower it would not make sense.  In no way would Persona even use the full power of the PS3 so no chance for a PS4 exclusive release.

I'd be good with anything, even Wii U which I don't own, as long as it's not 3DS only since it'd feel like such a step back from P4G.

Realistically though I expect 3DS exclusive or PS3 exclusive in that order of likelyhood, not seeing multiplat. A Vita version in the event it's the later would be nice, but I'm not so confident.

Only reason I say 3DS is because it is the only platform I can think of (with what information I have) that sounds likely. They did say a persona game was coming to the 3DS, and it's been a while since they said that. I just feel like it wouldn't take over 3 years to make a simple port of a game. Maybe they silently cancelled the game, and I wont be surprised if they happened to release the next Persona game (5) on the PS3 or Vita or something. I just have no reason to believe that as of now.

it is between the PS3 and the 3DS at this point. If they want to make a game that can rival the best of the best, they will go with the PS3 so that they have more tools to create a masterpiece, and also they will have a huge userbase to obtain sales from That would compensate the big budget of the game. But if they just want to make a great game but nothing more (nothing revolutionary in any aspect) they will make it for the 3DS.

Knowing japanese developers and the problems they have when creating HD games, I think, that so far the game will be for the 3DS.

That is what I think unless Cerny approaches them and convinces them to make the game for the PS4 :D

Only reason I think it would be on the 3DS is because of their announcement of one going to be on the 3DS (and because of how long ago it was, it would seem like it would have to either be a remake, a new Persona game, or cancelled).

I dont really know how Nintendo gamers would talk Persona 5 on 3ds. I mean I myself have a 3ds, and bought Soul Hackers and all other SMT games on the 3ds, but im just one of few. The Nintendo fanbase do not really buy SMT that much, just look at the sales chart. Compare the sales to those games, to the sales of Persona 4: Golden. Index knows that the Persona fanbase is still on Ps3/Vita So that is why I think they will target their games there. SMT has always been with Nintendo for awhile now, even the DS had SMT games while PSP had Persona games. But hey, if P5 comes out on 3ds, I guess ill be playing it on my 3ds lol.

Well, like I said with earlier posts I am just going off of the information I know.  What I don't know is how likely it is for a game like Persona 5 to be on a handheld or the history of these things.  As it stands, I wouldn't rule it out.
