Too much sense in this thread.

They're taking the same approach as they have with TGS : a media event before the show to steal the spotlight. It's sure they lose a great deal of influence without being on the same footing than Sony/MS, but ultimately it's what will be shown that determines if they can still keep up. If they come with great content, they can keep a strong presence among in the news and in people's mind. If they don't have the megatons to counter PS4/Nextbox, they're out however big their presentation is.
Every nintendo direct info is covered by important videogame outlets on the web. Big Deal no 1 hour snooze fest.

WHO cares about the public demos NINTENDO need MEDIA exposure cause the MEDIA write POSITIVE things about NINTENDO.
Also not like public people who are too far away from E3 will invite their friends to play E3 DEMOS only, cause that is a LUDACRIST IDEA. |
Wat?

It was only last year they started to mix it up. So I have to say I was kind of expecting this to happen. Since the ND before last year's E3 was generally well received if not a little corney.

Well Nintendo is having a media event about the same time they are hold their business meeting. Not to mention the Media will also be covering the ND's like usual, and they have been so far beside pointing out that they are coving a lot of the 3DS side of things lately been all positive. And since they are using ND the snafus they have had with the big press event will a thing of the past. So we will not be hearing more about how this demo didn't work on stage and how it looks like it controlls like gargabe instead of hearing about 1st hand experiences of playing with the game. And having a chance to play the demos the press are ourselves.
What is the fuss all about? Instead of one large presentation they will be having two smaller ones. They're not skipping E3 and they are not skipping a presentation.
Oh wait, it's Nintendo we're talking about...
Sounds like Nintendo is up to more surprises. I hope this turns out to be a really good surprise.

lol I was being sarcastic.
I thoguht the POSITIVE things the media always say about Nintendo would have been a dead give away.
