So you're saying that in E3 2010 when Nintendo stopped doing the dumbass financials for half the conference before showing games, had a chick who knew absolutely nothing about games and then dropped her from the job and gave Reggie the full job at E3 and let him introduce maybe not new IP's but some great new titles of familiar faces we havnt seen before that the crowd didnt buzz? Of course it did. Donkey Kong sold over 5 million copies didnt it? I mean when Nintendo does something right it doesnt show results, right? Nintendo at E3 this gen has always been a hit or miss company with their press conferences. Much in the same vein, this Nintendo Direct will either hurt them or help them. I think its the latter but we'll have to see wont we?

So you think that this Nintendo Direct over E3 thing is a good idea? Interesting.

Never said that, I said I agree with Adam Sessler who is very worried about Nintendos decision (did you watch the video?). I don't rate Nintendo with Sony or Microsoft, their games aren't about those ideals, its about simple fun and you get the action packed with the fun. The way Ninentendo has been handling themselves these days as a growing gamer in my twenties at best they would be a secondary console in my dorm. As i said I have my eye on the Wii U and dont want Nintendo to fail. I dont want any of them to fail.

I'm still wondering exactly why Nintendo would suddenly get no attention just because they have no conference.

If you ever find out will you please let me know?

LOL @ "Sony gets more video hits than Nintendo"

But do they get more game sales? If it doesn't translate to currency, who cares?

I am talking about in terms of the PS4, I am not talking about the current gen bro. The Xbox channel on Youtube is doing worse than the both of them. I remember people on You bashing the Kinect videos so badly that Microsoft took them down. We even posted about it over here. It was too funny....I think it was Star Wars Kinect.

Yea, games. What makes you think that the next Mario Kart and Mario 3D wont outsell whatever exclusive games M$ and Sony announce for this holiday?

We'll see how many consoles they sell. At this point its about legs for Nintendo and once they get to 10 million sold then we can talk about that. Mario Kart will get bundled heavily so I assure you they will sell.

You did say that, though. Well, you at least said it'll help them out.

I can't wait for the E3 Nintendo Direct, I honestly don't see a big difference between a stream of the ND and a stream of a presentation - the ND will cut the useless crap, though.

I don't see a difference, too, lol)))

Nintendo will present its products at E3 booth and made announcements at Direct or other special shows at the time of E3. Everyone will know what Nintendo announced and what showed at the convention center. There's no diference.

Oops, typo. I meant help them or hurt them. Sorry about that mix up.

Yeah, I thought that sounded too positive. It certainly didn't go with the rest of this thread.

Yeah it's very puzzling. Every time Nintendo has a Nintendo Direct, all the gaming websites report on it. Yet somehow during the biggest gaming event there is, they're suddenly just going to completely ignore Nintendo. Both current and potential owners will just be left in the dust when it comes to news for Nintendo. They'll instead stream 3 hour conferences by Sony and MS to get news.

It's quite funny how quickly people jumped on this chance to say that Nintendo is just sticking their heads in the sand. How in any way is Nintendo not having a huge showing at E3 going to hurt Nintendo. It's just the truth, they won't have a big showing, they don't have new hardware like the competition.

Some people need to get off it.

It is an issue if E3 is an issue.  If most people don't care about directly seeing E3 stuff, then it isn't a big deal.  Nintendo decides to do things different to get news out, so be it.  It could be we are moving beyond E3 being a big deal with the internet.  You have, for example, Microsoft dropping out of the CES pretty much and not doing the keynote any longer.

Nintendo will be at E3, just not doing a presentation. Will see how huge the impact is for this.  I know people on here tend to think of E3 as a near holiday status, it really isn't.

This is pretty much what I was saying. Nintendo won't be big, but they'll be there. Some people who say that Nintendo needs to get their heads out of the sand might need to take this advice as well. They aren't leaving the event.
