I'm not convinced this is a bad thing for Nintendo - yet. I'll want and see what the net effect is, but at this point I wouldn't attach too much negativity to it. Sessler does has some good points though, and as he pointed out it can be pernicious since E3 is much more effective than their directs.

I can see how stories get so totally blown out of proportion. Nintendo say they're going to change up the way they present at e3 and focus on smaller presentations that are aimed to individual stakeholders, rather than have one large boring presentation aimed at everyone. Let me paint a picture for you.

Wrestlemania's main event turns into a one on one match because one main eventer in the arranged triple threat match dodged the main event to fight a lesser opponent.

I get that you think selling consoles is equivalent to a wrestling match. Heads up, it's not.

And you have no evidence that the way Nintendo are going to present at E3 this year won't turn out to be a more effective method of getting the message out to consumers and the media.

 

Yes, I do have proof that Nintendo Direct doesnt meant shit. Look at their Youtube hits....which are not impressive at all. I know children who have more hits.

Bigger for who? You are overestimating the size of Nintendo's E3 audience.

I don't think you understand that every publication will have a write up and summary of the events of E3. Their press conference will get more views and press coverage than any Nintendo Direct. I'm interested in what Nintendo is bringing, but I haven't seen any of the Nintendo Directs (nor would I even know where to watch them). I've watched their E3 press conference for the past 6 years, so they lost an interested person who is outside of the core Nintendo fan audience.

Im not sure you are serious when saying ''nor would I even know where to watch them'' ?

I guess you want to express ''I don't care about seeing them'' or otherwise you never heard of youtube, google or you simply don't follow gaming news sites (who shows games clips of every Nintendo Directs).
