Negativity from the Media and so called analyst and game journalist dont mean shit.. when it comes to Nintendo .. really.. wii had all the negativity from these very same people.. it didnt matter.. it jus continued to sell till the end of its life.. 

... even if Nintendo did have a presentation do you think that would have changed anything and stopped the negativity for the wiiU and Nintendo as a whole?.. lol..

nothing changes.. Nintendo is still doom.. so why should they waste money on it.. when they can just go direct to the customers.

Seeing that the Sony PS4 conference was one of the most watched live stream events in history, I would have to say no, Nintendo are doing this out of desperation and poor performance. They simly won't be able to match the competition and it would be obvious as not wanting to push a product is beyond idiotic.

You are right the most important thing is to advertise to the mass market but ignoring hardcore gamers which are usually the early adopters is not smart either. There must be a balance in supporting both casual and hardcore gamers.

NIntendo are going up against a PS4 blowout and a Nextbox blowout.

Lets be honest here.

They could show a brand new Zelda for Wii U along with Super Mario U and Smash Bros... And they would still be drowned out. When someone shows new hardware it is the biggest possible thing at E3. When TWO companies are showing new hardware, step aside son.

As long as Nintendo cater to the audience thats interested in Nintendo, then they will have a good E3. Multiple Nintendo Directs (Im assuming Wii U and 3DS will be seperate) is a good start. Its telling us they still have things to show. Its telling us they're not totally abandoning E3. Them being on the show floor and having demos there is still showing us they have games to play.

It will depend on the way they manage to share information. So we should wait at least for the time they announce the plans.

It really depends on what they do, which we don't know for sure yet. The media will probably enjoy the new format because they will have their own, special, secret time with the new games. If the broadcast to fans is good it might be better than the traditional system.

But they are showing stuff at E3...they just aren't doing a Big Conference to anounce it thats really the only differane this year. Demos and anoucments are still happening just how they are doing it is diffrent.

Don't forget how much backlash there is when an E3 showing disappoints, and Nintendo's usually do.

Their shows tend to be very awkward and stilted versus Nintendo Directs where they seem to be much more comfortable and in control, and they might be right that it's because they feel like they are trying to talk to three different audiences at once at E3: retail, media, and fans. This change could be a very good thing as long as it doesn't lead to them retreating too far into themselves.

Are you arguing that a console thats been on the market for 7 Months will generate as much buzz and excitement as 2 consoles yet to be released? At E3? No. 

Just because they choose not to have an E3 press conference, doesnt mean they have no games to show. Theyre holding a few Nintendo Directs for E3 aswell as having behind-closed-doors press events. At least one of these will have Wii U games.
