Does Nintendo hold the majority of software sold on their systems?

You know what? That's a damned good question.

On the Wii Nintendo sold 388.89 of 843.47 Mil SW -> No

NDS: 347.10 of 769.94 Mil SW -> No

3DS: 44.04 of 77.51 Mil SW -> Yes

DS software is undertracked by 200 million but probably still a big no.

3DS should be getting more 3rd parties soon as Nintendo shifts all development to WiiU and leaves the 3DS to 3rd parties alone then. But as always GOD DAMN. Nintendo software sales are cray-cray.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Thanks for doing the digging on that. I sometimes forget that there are some useful tools on this site that haven't been paywalled yet.

The answer might be no (most of the time), but looking at the ratios and considering how rare it is for Nintendo to cut software prices, it might as well be yes.

You're welcome, this was the work of ~1 minute^^ Writing the results down literally was more work than finding them XD

All Nintendo games are. Some of the 3rd party games too, but far from all of them AFAIK

Theres a pretty big difference in Wii U software numbers between VGC and Nintendo
VGC says 6.6mil software sold
Nintendo says 13.4mil software shipped (doesn't specify whether this includes digital)

...big difference >.>

DS software undertracked by almost 200million? what? I am misunderstanding something here?

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
