- Worst campaign in series. It's not just because Baird is the leader either. It's enjoyable, but stll the worst.

- Worst MP in series. One less weapon and terrible balance. Only thing I've liked so far was the Gun Game mode with the latest DLC

- Removed Horde. Overrun is not even as close to being fun as Horde. 

- Has tons of maps to "catch up" with other games. Only 3 starting MP VS Maps when the game came out (the rest could only be played on Survival). Gears 2 had 25+ maps for MP, Gears 3 had nearly the same. Unaccepatable for Judgement.

Postives? Well It's more Gears and I love Gears, so I'm still going to play the shit out of it. No Seriously 4.0 achivement but you still have to beat it on insane and do the declassified missions on insane and get 3 stars which will be tough. With fan feed back I doubt they will drop the ball with the next gears games.



It's just that simple.

I have only played 1 and 2 and saw 3...but for me none of them can top one. If for nothing else but how deeply I was immersed in the multiplayer.I put COUNTLESS hours into that game and would go back to 1 any day.

I favour Gears of War 2 myself, it had the best campaign moments; the level inside the giant worm and the Brumak-riding part near the end were awesome.

Agreed with this completely, Gears 2 had all the classic moments in the campaign. I also think its mechanics were the best, it was so tight and well tuned.

There are things from each game that I liked better than the other.

Single Player: Gears 2( more Epic moments than 1 or 3)

Multiplayer: Gears 3(dedicated servers alone makes it the best, and the smoothest)

Multiplayer maps: Gears 2(Has the most maps, and imo the best ones)

Horde: Gears 3(so damn addicting)

I'll go with Gears 3 as my favorite. If it wasn't for the damn sawed-off I would have put more time into the multiplayer. I also hate the DLC achievements in Gears 3, to many require certain skins to be used. Haven't played Judgement yet.
