Camera angles, how I miss you in most games.

i don't think that looks good or will be good. Compared to Dreamfall, Project Eternity or other projects it looks uninspired. The whole scene (and main character) is modeled after the slums in FF7. The textboxes while like FF7, with the white outline blue box looks bad. Taking a vagrant story style, or something would look a lot less bad.
It looks like one of those knockoffs by gamesloft. It looks like a PS2 game. I'd bet on it not being very good.

It definetly needs some improvement, but this style is still how I want my JRPGS. Even if this game sucks I want publishers/developers to get their stuff together. The genre's abandonment of this type of formating has yielded poor results in my eyes, more times than not. 3D on 2D or stationary settings was great for these games. The artistic work, the visual control, it was a great canvas. Often times a full 3D world with an adjustable camera resulted in poor delivery, camera issues, over complexity of area exploration, and lack of detail due to increased scope of area. I can only imagine fully 3D cities and 1:1 scale worlds have caused development costs to soar.
I really want Final Fantasy to return to this format and take advantage of character models and HD resolution. They've been so horrible lately in practically every regard. FFXIII was missing several concepts that create the genre's complete package. Having towns, people to talk to, things to do when you go to a new place; this gen has been so poor in the JRPG department.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

They just need to work on the presentation a little more and they could have a winner.
