I don't know why I can't remember it very well, I was probably 10 when I played it (7 years ago), but I definitely remember getting quite far in Silent Hill 2. I got past the bit with Pyramid head.

Silent Hill 2 and Shattered Memories

Why not include Silent hill Shattered memories?
Its easily the best since the second one.

My goal was to only compare the first three since those are the ones I recently played.  That being said I wouldn't say shattered memories is better than 3.  Its really an outlier in the series.  The game is atmospheric and is quite terrifying at times, however, there is little tension other than the chase sequences.  The story does have a nice twist though and it plays great with a wiimote.

btw Shattered Memories is one of my favorite wii games, no doubt

I've only played alittle bit of the first one. I don't know,I just could'nt get into the series.

I wish The Room was included in the HD collection because many say that's the best one.

I heard The Room is supposed to be... more interesting, awkward (in a good way), original and perhaps even more scary?

I bought the collection a long time ago already (but I haven't touched it yet). And it's got a patch that is supposed to fix the shadowing problems.

I liked 2 and 3 almost equally, and I feel like the Origins adaptation for the PS2 was pretty good too. Never played The Room, but after the good impressions on this thread I might try it out.

And recommend people give a chance to Origins too.

Btw, I also have Homecoming, which I've already started, but due to the slow start it hasn't engaged me yet (I think I just got out of the hospital). And it was a while ago so I kinda forgot what happened, forgot the controls and everything.

Should I go and start SH 1 instead?

I like Silent Hill 3 the most, Heathers Story is just genuinely interesting. Instead of SH1 I would include Shattered Memories, the atmosphere is awesome (dat flashlight) and the chase scenes are scary as fuck. I can only recommend it for the Wii, though.
