There isn't that much difference when the pic is not over bloated.

You don't see the difference in brightness. That means that it's a question of perception.

Yes the LTTP 2  is brighter but I take that as the colors just being more vibrant in modern tech.

IMO LttP2 does looks like a 2.5D Minish Cap:

Just out of curiousity. do you think this screenshot of LttP2 looks better?:

Than this:

I'm not sure I understand your question, but in case I did, I'll just say I didn't like the color style of Minish Cap, but at least the detail is more interesting than what we're seeing of Lttp2. Having said that, in Zelda at times less is more. However, that is not the case if it makes the objects look like playskool toys.

Oh, sorry if I confused you, I really fucked up my original post. I meant to say that LttP2 reminds me of Minish Cap and asked you if you liked the other LttP screenshot more than yours^^

I kinda agree with you all zelda's have basically followed the same formula from LTTP.

It's a question of perception.

The fighting mechanics are drastically different between 3D Zeldas and 2D Zeldas.

The puzzles have a certain level of similarity.

The exploration changes from game to game, irrespective 2D or 3D, so that is a per-game basis thing.

No, that's BS. Modern tech can make it bright or matte. The devs have all the tools they need to tone down the lighting and apply the color style and tone that best suits their game. You could say that the SNES version was limited, but you can't say that modern systems are limited.

@KHLover. I prefer the darker pic, but I still dislike both pics. I do like the alttp2 dungeon pic I posted through.

The fighinting mechanic has to do again with tech, could you imagine how awkward it would be if Link tried to swipe vertically in a 2d game back in the snes days (or maybe he does who knows) again the mechanic suits the tech it would be irrational to give him different angles of sword swings in a 2d game, I'm still trying to figure out whether he is short and fat in LTTP or just a really weird perspective.

Imagine if the tech were able to do, in a top-down view, enemy targetting and having link face his ennemies in obliques, and then reducing the number of enemies on screen, and changing the speed of his attacks (z+A, B). The game would play very differently from 2D LoZ.

That's just the thing when I look at LTTP I see the developers trying to get that cartoony look as much as possible but just cannot because of the snes hardware and when I look at the 3ds version I see them achieving that goal. So maybe it is really a matter of perspective

Damn you, now I'm wasting my time editing this pic to find a coloring I like...really fun though^^

How about this one:

:) It's already a bit better, but the 3D models still look stupid. And the fushia is out of place.

I don't think so, brighter colors were available on the SNES actually. I just think it's a question of better visual direction back in the day. Remember, Nintendo has had to dilute its teams thinner so as to output more games. This isn't an exception.

Bright green and fushia above.
