Man, if he didn't like the Bayo1 numbers he'll hate the Bayo2 sales :P

With the audience of the WiiU and the amount of consoles currently sold I'd say anything above ~150k sales in the first month and 500k LT is a success...

The audience of wiiu?  It's not hitting mainstream anytime soon..Will be a core audience for some time. I've never met a casual who's heard of it.

It is Nintendo-Core, that's a difference.Games like Bayonetta don't tend to sell very well to this audience.

Nintendo core buys exclusives though.   They typically don't buy multipats because Nintendo core also owns more powerfull systems. But I think Bayonetta does alright on Wiiu.  Not as well as on Bayonetta 1 but decent compared to what something like DMC would have sold had it been ported to Wiiu.

Well, with ~1Mil sales on the PS3 (with a much higher userbase) 500k sales would be a success in my book^^

We didn't like Bayonetta sales so we though we'd put it on just the WiiU?

Genius.

They may make some money on it if it due to the money paid to them for the exclusivity, but they pretty much killed any possibility of it becoming a successful franchise in the longer term.

Very short term of them. I guess they are financially desperate.

Really? Just because it's being released on a Nintendo console?

So that's how it works. And what if it's then released on the MSony consoles, will it pull a Resi5?

Hmmmmm..... Bayonetta 2 is the final decision of SEGA, Nintendo, and Platinum Games, so I don't know why some people are targeting Platinum only. It just makes no sense, not to mention if people liked 1, they should just support 2, and support Nintendo in the process, since Nintendo failing is not an option if people want to good balanced gaming future where competitions will improve our gaming quality overall.

Vanquish 2!!! MAKE IT NOW!!!!

Even worse than Bayonetta sales. That game has no hope of a sequel unless someone goes out of their to pay Segas tab on the publishing.

dammit S.T.A.G.E.!!! don't dash my hopes :(

pretty much this

Besides, I've been wondering. How does an independant developer get its revenues? Does it receive a lump sum from the publisher, a percentage of the sales revenues or a combination of the two?

I think they get paid salary, and they dont get paid from the sales of the game.

DMC wouldn't have been helped by the Wii U this early in the game.
