It is Nintendo-Core, that's a difference.Games like Bayonetta don't tend to sell very well to this audience.

A203D said: I'm confused, according to Vgchartz Bayonetta sold 1.8-2 mil copies. Are those figures wrong because Platinum Games have quoted a figure of about 1 mil? Anyway I think going with Nintendo was a mistake. But Bayonetta 2 will be amazing, so I'm happy Platinum Games managed to get funding for the title. Looking forward to what they have up their sleeve. Their one of the best developers in the world.
Wagram said: Didn't sell well enough on 2 consoles that has that demographic....but let's limit it to one console that may or may not have it. Not exactly an intelligent move in my opinion.
What's not intelligent about it?!? Nintendo has paid to have it developed for the Wii U. Platinum gets their money, Nintendo get a game they wanted....it's actually pretty simple. If Nintendo thinks that the game will help move some systems and in turn sell other games too, good for them.
It seems like most everyone on this site is an armchair analyst that thinks that every more made is wrong.
btw...if the game ends up being good, I for one will be purchasing it.
Stop hating and start playing.
ethomaz said: No game ever sold what Platinum wanted lol lol lol Rising proved to be a flop too even with the Metal Gear name.
Thats because Sega is the publisher and Platinum Games makes too many niche games no matter how good they might be.

"With Revengeance carrying the Metal Gear name and fast-paced gameplay, don’t be surprised if it overtakes Bayonetta as the #1 selling Platinum Games title sooner rather than later." Yeah, only 800k more to go. |
Vgchartz has Bayonetta overtracked by a fair bit. I believe actual sales are about 1.2 million.
Time for hype
it's funny when you need to correct each and everyone of the posters that post about Bayonetta that if it wasn't for Nintendo the game would not be coming at all!
Platinum games Y U so STUPID decision?

It's probably overtracked here but it must have sold more than that. Sega shipped 1.1M by January 2010, they had to ship another 250k before April 2010, and it has sold more since then.

No ones arguing that point.
kowenicki said: We didn't like Bayonetta sales so we though we'd put it on just the WiiU? Genius. They may make some money on it if it due to the money paid to them for the exclusivity, but they pretty much killed any possibility of it becoming a successful franchise in the longer term. Very short term of them. I guess they are financially desperate.
between wii u exclusive and canceled project i'm sure they mad ethe right choice, genius. and nintendo didn't give money directly, they're funding the game.
