it's funny when you need to correct each and everyone of the posters that post about Bayonetta that if it wasn't for Nintendo the game would not be coming at all!

Platinum games Y U so STUPID decision?

No ones arguing that point.

yet people say it was a stupid decision made by platinum games to put it only on WiiU

Thats ridiculous, they are aruging the chances of it selling well on a Nintendo platform exclusively.

You're really protective of Nintendo arent you?

That's SquareEnix-esque expectations the had for Bayo1. 1 million is quite fine for this kind of game.

Anyway I wouldn't mind an enhanced Bayo2 on PS4 ;)

Are we still nurturing impossible dreams? Alright, its your disappointment.

I am protective of the truth. and in case you didn't notice, my last post wasn't protecting anyone. it was saying you lyied and explaining why. unless you want to deny people are still saying platinum "decided" to make bayonetta 2 wii u exclusive.

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Jeez the willful ignorance in this thread is astounding. Bayonetta 2 was cancelled. Nintendo resurrected the project. Get over the butthurt already. If the complainers about Bayonetta 2 exclusivity actually bought the first game, then this wouldn't have happened. The butthurt was funny and pathetic at first. Now it's just pathetic. I'm happy that I'll actually have the opportunity to play Bayonetta 2. Since I actually bought the first game, I'm not blowing smoke like a good portion of the internet.

The best part is people complaining that a game won't be playable by their last gen consoles, thus having to buy a new one to play it. A.K.A the very definition of why you buy a next gen console. then sony anounces killzone only for ps4 and people love it even though their ps3 can't run it.

They may make some money on it if it due to the money paid to them for the exclusivity, but they pretty much killed any possibility of it becoming a successful franchise in the longer term.

Very short term of them. I guess they are financially desperate.

pretty much this

Besides, I've been wondering. How does an independant developer get its revenues? Does it receive a lump sum from the publisher, a percentage of the sales revenues or a combination of the two?

It generally depends on the studio.

For one like Platnium it's likely almost all upfront money with little to no percentage of sales.

Of course... game sales lead to getting better contracts and deals with a better backend.

Man, if he didn't like the Bayo1 numbers he'll hate the Bayo2 sales :P

With the audience of the WiiU and the amount of consoles currently sold I'd say anything above ~150k sales in the first month and 500k LT is a success...

The audience of wiiu?  It's not hitting mainstream anytime soon..Will be a core audience for some time. I've never met a casual who's heard of it.

It is Nintendo-Core, that's a difference.Games like Bayonetta don't tend to sell very well to this audience.

Nintendo core buys exclusives though.   They typically don't buy multipats because Nintendo core also owns more powerfull systems. But I think Bayonetta does alright on Wiiu.  Not as well as on Bayonetta 1 but decent compared to what something like DMC would have sold had it been ported to Wiiu.
