Forums - General - So I'm nervous. [Venezuela current state.]

A vote for Capriles, is a vote for the old Venezuela which was a bitch for the US, doing what it wanted. Some people may not of liked Chavez, but he made Venezuela and possibly South America independent of foreign interference. But if he did win, it's for own good that he don't take office. What plans does he have to fix the problems there? At least the PSUV has plans to fight crime and continue to reduce poverty and other stuff. They aren't perfect but it won't be healthy for Venezuela to quickly privatise every state asset and let the poor get on with it. What is scary is that Capriles is trying to cause choas in the streets just because he can't admit defeat, some potential president there! I hope Maduro just keeps going and ignores this madness. Vive Chavez!, Vive la revolucion!

You are probably one of the most ignorant person on this forum. If you don't live there or have lived there, you don't have any rights to comment on the specifics, I think you should educate yourself first.

I would love to discuss with you about ''the old Venezuela'' but the actual old one, and talk about Lopez Contreras, Medina Angarita, Perez Jimenez, Leoni, CAP, Caldera, etc. but i will not do it for my own reasons, instead i'm going to show you something implying that i know of course that every country has good and bad times...

This picture represents all that Venezuela was in the 50', everything you see on it. (SG Royal ST. Caracas, 1954)

This is the same place today, just like the previous one, this picture represents a lot of what Venezuela is today.

And that's all im gonna say.

Were are you from? Venezuela? Nope? Oh right, I live here and I fight everyday. THEY Said there won't be violence 14 years ago... and here we are left with one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Just watch Maduro speaking, almost always you will see an iPAD right beside him(CofcoffucktheIMPERIALISTcofcof RIGHT?!). Capriles has plans for everything, economy, violence, union. Even at this moment when we are all angry and fightin' he told US to keep calm, HE TOLD US that Violence is not the way, and the ones that are killin' people are the ones that belong to an organitation called "Tupamaros" and Chavistas they are oficialist, and Maduro is doing nothing against them. So where are you from again? If you tell me that you are a Venezuelan livin' in United Kingdom, THE JOKE IS ON YOU. Why aren't you here with us but instead you are livin' well outside.

South America is an effed up place. It's like caveman mixed with third world mixed with drug lords mixed with people on the internet.

Slightly off-topic, but am I the only Latin American who is content with his president? I know he is a mess sometimes, but the way Correa pushes for government paid scholarships is a godsend for someone like me.

made ya check on a quoted post

Is there a way to count vote for vote? From what I've heard, the votes in Venezuela are electronic, and a ticket is given to each people. To count every vote would you need every person to show his ticket and count them one by one? Because if there was fraud I doubt what's in the computers will be reliable.

Hugo Chavez was a fine example of strong leadership of a Left/Centre-Left government that seems to be lacking in most western nations. Left/Centre-left in Europe and the US are not associated with strong leadership, the Right/Centre-right in US and Europe historically have strong leadership. Hugo Chavez was a strong leader to the Left of politics as Margaret Thatcher was a strong leader to the Right of politics. The next Venezuelan President will be overshadowed by the legacy of Hugo Chavez.
