really? Forza i think is kinda expected and will make the racing fans happy. Ryse looks interesting but I'm not interested in using Kinect. will MS not release with a Halo?

not at launch.

The first Halo on the 360 released in 2007, 2 years after the console launched.

I don't know, I think MS said a while back that they want yearly Halo releases so odds are there will be a Halo game of some sort at launch (probably not Halo 5 though).

Halo 2 Anniversary is due on Fall 2014. 2015 would be for Halo 5.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Ryse better use a controler. Otherwise I give this launch a "meh".

Unless of course by zombie title they mean Left 4 Dead 3. HELL YEAH!

It's just that simple.

I doubt Forza 5 would be launch. 2014 definitely, just a matter of when.

The complaints about its 2 - 2.5 year dev cycle shouldn't happen......the games are all 90+ on metacritic. Turn 10 is doing something right. I say keep it coming so long as it isn't annual and the quality is consistent.

Im not a big fan with this big "Kinect" focus Microsoft is giving their next console...God I want motion controls to just go sit in a corner and take a time out for a couple of years

EDIT: and Fuck Forza, Halo, Gears...dear God MS I WANT SOMETHING NEW FROM YOU....Im still bitter that MS wasn't smart enough to buy Bioware when they could have...

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

i am a forza fan but i really hope forza will come one year later and we get a new pgr at release.

I 100% agree, microsoft if oversaturating Forza, I don't even have time to finish the old one before the new one comes out.

Also I think Forza should take a better stand against Gran Turismo. It should be a game which pushes the consoles capabilities (like 1 was on XB, and 3 and 4 were on 360). If MS releases Forza as a launch title, it won't push the console at all, and MS will just release another Forza for 2015.

Seriously though, every 2 years, plus side games, is too much. PGR 5 would be a better launch title, I still play PGR 4, and how old is that?

yeah they kill their own sales with it. i mean, i don't think sales would be 2x as high if they would release it only half as much but there are many who are fine with one forza every three years or so and if they get them more regularly they think "hmm i still have the one i play right now, why should i buy the new one?"

so, releasing it less often would increase the sales of every single forza even if not 2x as much and releasing pgr games between those releases would be nice for those who don't care about forza at all or for people who like both and rather have some variety. and i think huge fans are also fine with it.

i mean, i would buy every "real" forza even if i get it every second year but those games take so long it is obvious that many don't buy every game and only every second then.

I agree, when GT first came out it released every 3-4 years, GT5 was the first game to take longer to develop, but the sames were just the same. Still with all the DLC Microsoft puts into these games, you don't need a full size upgrade for at least 3 years. I'd rather have MS trim down Turn 10, make Forza games less frequently (it will probably boost individual games sales a bit), and put the money this saved into another studio, or franchise.

Heck, put some money into Rare and make a proper Banjo Kazooie, or Conker title. MS bought Rare over a decade ago, and except for a Conker remake, they have abused the company.

Well, that's depressing. Myself and the majority of the people who care for 360 will pass until a Halo/Gears-esque is released. Shall we begin the hype for Fall 2014?

LOL, so true! 360 ended with a few years of overly abused IP's (Gears every 2-3 years, Halo and Forza almost annually, etc).

We need to see that Microsoft has changed, that they're more like their pre-2009 days.

Everyone really needs to relax. All over the internet and even on this forum there are threads dedicated to following what Microsoft is up to on the studio front.

343 Industries
Black Tusk Studios
Lionhead Studios
Rare
Turn 10
Microsoft Studios Victoria
Platform Next Studios
Microsoft Studios Redmond
Twisted Pixel (XBLA)
Press Play (XBLA)

Those are their first party studios who are making core games. 343 will obviously only make Halo. Black Tusk is making a Sci Fi horror game with a Halo budget. Lionhead is making Fable 4 and an MMO. Rare was hiring for an action adventure game and a FPS game. Turn 10 will obviously make Forza. Platform Next, Victoria, and Redmond are all working on new core titles that have very little information atm.

That isn't including Gears of War, Ryse, and Alan Wake.

This gen will most likely be just like last gen. Halo, Fable, Forza, and Gears will roll over to next gen. Then they have studios working on all new IP's from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party devs. Whatever is successful will be put into their current rotation of exclusive games.

I am assuming Black Tusk is going to have the next big thing. There is way to much talent up there and having a Halo budget is going to be ridiculous.

Rare has to make an impact this gen they have a bunch of IP's that can help Microsoft expand their library of 1st party games.

Phil Spencer did say back in 2012 that Ryse is hybrid game playable with controller and Kinect: http://123kinect.com/ryse-game-playable-controller-kinect/19980/
