Forums - Gaming Discussion - Does Square Enix face a genuine risk of closure?

Do you guys think that developers are gearing up to leave after they finish FFXIV and FFXIII-3?

Or does that not really happen in the JP industry?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Around the Network

if that happens, sony or nintendo will buy them

Release games on Steam Squareenix...I swear it'll help your sales...

If they released FFXIII and FFXIII-2. I'd buy them again. And I think a fair amount would considering the Dearth of Pretty JRPG's on steam.

Granted it's been proven you can mod costumes as theres a samus XIII-2 mod for PS3, and so it would be not real easy for them to sell costume crap.

BUT i'm so offtopic.

So, two entire pages and noone mentioned actual news ? I love well rounded critisism...

It's hard to believe, and would make huge gaming news that would be remembered through history, but at the rate that they appear to be missing out on projected profits and pouring $millions into development costs for unreleased games... is there actually a chance that we could eventually see the end of this company if they're to continue in this way for the next few years?

Yes,  Square is in risk because of FF XIV
