Forums - Gaming - Microsoft pushed back next Xbox reveal because it's not afraid of PS4?

There you go... Back to square zero :)
This is not the final console or motherboard. And in no way this is an official Microsoft statement so when you said that "Microsoft laid down their architecture by saying", you are just referring to rumors or early dev. kits leak (or more recent but still not final specs).

My point then is still valid; until Microsoft really show up their console; everything is just speculations and everything is possible.

Your only point is that nobody knows anything. Are you a nihilist? Why even bother arguing anything when nothing matters and nothing can be analyzed? Why do people always argue with me about analysis??????

I at least use evidence to back up my statements and analysis, I don't just state what I want to happen and then say "who knows". The devs had gddr5 memory, they just didn't know it would be 8GB. That should, in one way or another, show you that only a certain amount can change, ie; chip memory size. Sony didn't change the mobo or the type of ram, they just increased the chip memory size. There are certain limitations.

I know what you are saying is that the dev kits could all be just prototypes and the system could be completely different, but that is not reason enough to argue with me saying that it'll be something else. That's just conjecture based on the idea that all rumors and prototypes are completely wrong, which is a stretch.

Are you serious? You are the one arguing with me and my point of view (which is not to believe to rumors). I did not (and I do not think anybody did) argued with you about your analysis. If the rumors/leak are the final specs; I will definitely agree with you and your points are totaly valid.

My initial comment was about Microsoft able to change anything before to announce it officialy, including the motherboard...
And you keep coming with an analysis of what rumors/leaks are as of now. There is a disconnection here.

My apologies, you are correct.
My point though is that you cannot switch up parts at this late in the game, unless they are doing something no company has done before, OR it will be delayed.

Why would they push back an announcement if there was no pressure? It seems to me if you are comfortable with what you have, you go ahead with the (rumored) original announcement date.

On the other hand, if you feel changes need to be made, then you are forced to delay your announcement.

I would assume they mean no pressure to rush to announce the hardware. I'm not saying the PS4 announcement was premature, but they didn't even have a console to show.

I'm just basing my opinion on the part that said, "saw little competitive pressure from Sony."  If there is no pressure from a competitive standpoint, you just announce your great news and crush them.  The only other thing that makes sense to me is that the rumored announcement date was just wrong.

You some how read "little competitive pressure from Sony" as "no pressure."

It just means Sony getting the edge on announcing their platform didn't make them rush to make an announcement. DUHHH!!!!

Fine.

Doesn't change the meaning at all.

E3 2013?  Remember the countdown clock?

Nope.  What's that?

I'm not sure what that has to do with moving the announcement from April to May since E3 is not in May anyway.

That doesn't mean MS has some amazing news that will crush the competition. Sony didn't show anything that blew people away, MS may not either.

You're reading into this all wrong.

I'm saying the reason doesn't make sense.  The real reason is either they are just not ready, or the original rumored date was bullshit.

I'm not sure how that's relevant to what we were talking about.

Anyhow, all we know is MS isn't rushing. Maybe they'll actually have a console to show.

That's what my very first comment was about...that the reason given doesn't make sense in context.
