Major sales lead to major devs releasing major games more often, which leads to more sales, and this to more games,.... etc.

Of course, but handhelds are a very different situation. I meant it as more in relavence to this thread which is designed to be a circlejerk. With how markets are working now, developers can market their game to specific fanbases and have a lot of success regardless of userbase size. The big indie game sales numbers for Vita proves this.

If you want Vita to be a half successful niche device, well, thats you, but i dont think most would agree, as sales prove. I think EVERYONE wants big names on Vita, same as WiiU, and they arent coming...difference is WiiU will get a plethora of 1st party games in the near future.

You misunderstand what I want with what I said. Even with a small userbase, every platform finds a niche. Despite the Gamecube being a complete flop sales-wise, it still had a good library. I'm sure the Wii U will develop a good library as well. You'd think that this past generation has shown that being the market leader doesn't always equal large support (I'm not directly comparing Wii to what will happen to 3DS, it's just not an absolute rule).

When it comes down to who wins or loses, I think it's the quality of hardware in conjunction with games that determines that, not what's sold the most, and that quality is currently leaning towards the Vita. I own both the 3DS and Vita and I play the games that come out on both portables. I just think the Vita line up has been far better overall.

Well, games like Angry Birds or Temple run obviously bring in lots of cash for their developers. But for every Angry Birds or Temple Run you have thousands of failed games which don't earn their devs shit. With prices between 1-5€ you need lots of downloads to make money off your game (if your game is free[mium] you'll make even less money with ads as only source of income).

On a dedicated handheld console your games tend to be bigger, but also earn more money.

I think as of right now the Vita is the better console when it comes to the games, not that it has won.  Since I think that, it's just my opinion.  Everyone else can think what they want.  Does my opinion affect someone else from forming their own opinion?
