Do you prefer to buy games physically or digitally?

I prefer physical, but I'll buy digital if there is no other choice or if it's under $10.

"Digital games and DLC at $2.22 billion"
I would like to see a further breakdown of that, how much of that is from full price games.

Or how much that is without DLC to compare physical: 7.1 + 1.59 vs digital: 2.22 - ?.

This statement is 100% legit, you can't disagree that Nintendo has been a few years (a gen?) behind Sony, MS and PC and only recently managed to catch up in this department. I'm pretty sure when it comes to the volume of sales it's still nowhere near PSN, Live and Steam+GoG levels.

That's why it says embraced and not discovered. The digital store on Wii with all its ridiculous limitations was a joke and can't be considered legitimate digital distribution. This came with 3DS and Wii U. They have finally managed to catch up. Nintendo, welcome to 2006 yet again I guess...



Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

I can say I've gone 100% digital with my 3DS.

Not ready to make that jump with the Wii U tho.

Still mostly physical. I like to be able to trade in/sell my games if they don't leave an impression on me. Oh and I always keep the boxes and manuals.

Still for going digital for virtual console stuff, some 3DS e-shop titles. And I lend some games out to friends if they ask.

Console games = physical

PC games = digital cause you know steam will never die. Even if vale go one as someone will buy the service.

Nah, you're just very stubborn or have trouble reading. Just compare PSN or Live to WiiWare. Read about the ridiculous limits Nintendo imposed on the devs to allow them to release a game there. Read why Super Meat Boy wasn't released on Wii, even though the devs really wanted to do it and tried for a long time. Then maybe you'll understand. It was a poor excuse for a digital store, a handicapped substitute of the real deal. Only now has Nintendo joined the real world. Just accept the facts and life will be easier for you. Nintendo has made mistakes in the last few years and now has to catch up in these departments. Negating reality won't change it.

i prefer physical but most games i bought last year were digital and i think that won't change anymore.

I buy new PS3 games through retail because the price for digital versions is often outrageous. I also have PS Plus, so I've got at least 50 digital full PS3 and PSN games by now.

Do you buy new releases on PC though?
When The witcher 2 came out, the boxed version was the same price with tons of extras. I don't mind having that box on the shelf. Unfortunately that's the exception. So I rather buy console versions I can trade in, or wait for a Steam sale.
