Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Ports?

They won't make ports unless it's Call of Duty, instead, they'll make low budget exclusive games like they did on the Wii. That's not a problem for me, since the Wii was my favourite console last gen exactly because of that.

Yeah, as big of a shame it was to miss out on the Mass Effects and Bioshocks, I actually like that with the Wii we got different/quirky third party games like Little King's Story, No More Heroes 1 & 2, Red Steel 2, and Project Zero 2 instead of just toned-down mainstream stuff.

Nintendo makes third-party not want to develop for them. Same for Microsoft to a certain extend.. I think it's competition from their first party games. So even if Nintendo had good third-party, it wouldn't sell like how it would on a Sony console.

Third parties love sony because of this. Their first party aren't as big as Nintendos.

I make bad threads.

SSB really went downhill after Melee....

i can tell u this, don't expect any game from EA, running Frosbite or UnrealEngine4. Anyting else is possible. Think Wii U will be Wii again, bt this time because of lame excuses not because of hardware. Good third party gmes have sold well on Nintendo's consoles, so that is not the reason. At least let's wait until ports like Black Flag and Watch Dogs release to give better conclusion about sales of third party games.

Nowhere near as good as Nintendo games.

Third parties hate Nintendo because they can't sell well on nintendo's platfroms.

So this means we won't be seeing any UE4 games on wiiu? Obviously developers won't be wasting additional time or money porting onto wiiu. It's not of any benefit to them.

There are alot of games using UE. So this would be final nail in coffin. Unless anyone has an alternate explanation as to why this isn't an issue.

I'm noticing a lot of people saying "Nintendo is for exclusives." Well maybe they should go software only then lol....

And miss out on the extra revenue from hardware? Doesn't sound like a great business decision to me.

In all honestly Nintendo should have beefed up the specs to be close to PS4/720 to make the effort required by developers less, even though they just scaling down stuff.

However at the same time you can see why they didn't bother, because not like it worked out well for GCN when it come to ports. Chances are if the PS4 hardware was inside a Nintendo case it still wouldn't get games.

This is due to many factors over the years where Nintendo and 3rd party have poor relationships.

the only ports will be games running on UE3, once PS3 and X360 lose support, so will the WiiU most likely

False info is false.

It's just a prediction I made based on 2006-2009 PS2 games being available for Wii but it could be different I suppose

The Wii had support in 2010 though, after PS2 had mostly dried up. Red Steel 2, No More Heroes 2, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Goldeneye, Sonic Colors, Sonic All Stars Racing, Black Ops, etc.
