Forums - Gaming - How important is Bayonetta 2 for WiiU's potential for future 3rd party game development?

There are already notable games (such as Battlefield 4, Grand Theft Auto 5) not coming to the WiiU.  If Bayonetta 2 doesn't sell well, then is that the nail in the coffin for 3rd party support for the WiiU?  Or is 3rd party support already dead?  Or when the new PS4/Xbox720 consoles arrive, the WiiU is not likely to handle the games for the PS4/Xbox720 so 3rd party developers are not likely to spend lots of resources to port over to the WiiU.......

Third-party support for Wii U was decided long before the console was announced.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

Not very. Just like with the Wii, the third party situation was decided before the generation began.

If Bayonetta 2 does sell well Nintendo might be encouraged to do more publishing of third party games, though.

It will at best be a moderate success and not be influential towards third party support due to the fact that the game was under Nintendo's wing.

It will at worst be a failure and be what third parties point towards and say "see, we shouldn't support this platform."

Of no importance.

I ain't getting 2 if I don't know what 1 was about. That being said I don't plan on getting the PS3 version of Bayonetta 1 either because of the apparent issues with the port.

all that matters is action rpg fans get to have bayonetta 2. no single game can be as influential as the op suggests unless it explodes or tanks. theres too many factors to oversimplify it.

I don't know why people haven't realize that it doesn't matter what Nintendo does, it will never get support from third party. In fact Nintendo will start doing better if they forget about it.

ps. theres no coffin. give it a break.

I was going to pick up a Wii U for Bayonetta 2 but with the massive lack of support I think i'm going to hold out for a long time. Probably until the next Xeno hits.

Pretty big deal actually, I predict it will boost japanese and american console sales by 50K each.
I also predict 150K for the first week overall for Bayonetta 2, and 500k lifetime, huge for a 3 million console install base.
