This was running on a GTX Titan apparently, which is a 4.5 tflops GPU with 6gb of GDDR5; compared to PS4 which has a 2 tflops GPU and 8gb of GDDR5. According to Carmack, "Consoles run 2x or so better than equal PC hardware"... So PC guys, what does this mean? Can PS4's GPU produce results equivalent to a 4 tflops GPU, and therefore run this demo (pretty much)?

I actually read that it's gtx680

Looks really quite good, now lets see some more actual games!

But this is what GDC is about, tech demos but light on real games, I am looking to E3 for some actual gameplay (I need to see a man with a controller and the hardware)

It looks good... though after all the other tech demos we've seen so far it's nothing spectacular anymore.

That's the brilliant thing - it means everything will only get better from release, more so that most demos have been rendered in real time and not pre-rendered nonsense.

Yup it is a brilliant thing.

But i feel like Epic will have a harder time selling their engine next gen, since all the other publishers seem to have a fantastic engine in place as well... but who knows.

edit: may of actually been GTX 680, which is a 5 tflops GPU with 2gb GDDR5.

Nvidia flops /= AMD Flops in terms of game performance a GTX680 at 3 Tflops trades blows with the 4 Tflop HD 7970 for example.

PS4 won't ever come close to this on a raw technical level (of a GTX680 let alone a Titan), with the right optimisation (read cheap tricks) they should be able to achive a convincing facsimile tho.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

Looks like particle effects is the hottest thing in Next Gen engines right now, almost every single tech demo heavily emphasizes it.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Impressive but in the end its only a tech demo. I want to see actual gameplay.

i seriously think every unreal engine demo of the last year or two should be a real game. this now, samaritan and the elemental demo. .

I was more impressed with the Elemental demo than this one.

Looks great but not that over what we already saw in others demos.

it looks good, will we even see games of this detail in the next 5 years?.. probably not

looks kewl
