I think this is a pretty smart idea. If they could effectively get Miiverse in the spotlight on smartphones/tablets, this'll open the motherlode of potential WiiU/3DS buyers.

I don't think it is going to get a whole lot of coverage, it's just accessed via the browser.

Maybe Nintendo should make it where people who dont have a wiiu or 3ds can browse the miiverse but cant post anything until they own a wiiu or 3ds so they can see whats going on.

This is pretty amazing and deserves more attention. There are a lot of places in the world that aren't d21lewis' home, and now he can get banned from the Miiverse at any of them. The possibilities are limitless.

Not sure if Nintendo would want to do that because it gets people used to the idea that Nintendo is open to supporting hardware other than their own. Would give them even more reason to cry for them to go 3rd party.

so what you are saying is the OP should be changed to "Miiverse to come to smartphone, PC, ps3, and vita by May"  :P

anyhoo, odd choice (imo) not to prioritize the 3DS over the web.  that would give wiiU a lot of exposure to a wide base of very likely wiiU buyers.
