Forums - Nintendo - Battlefield 4 skipping Wii U

I don't understand people, WiiU came out 3 or 4 months ago, there hasn't been any kind of third party conference (E3, TGS, etc.), not even a Nintendo direct aimed to 3rd party support, and yet they claim WiiU is being abandoned... I see how several games are not being announced for the WiiU, but I also see how they aren't being announced for PS4 (Dead Island, Saints Row), what is the difference?

the difference is that dead island was announced before even the PS4 was announced. it is also releasing way before the PS4 is released. it is however, releasing while the WiiU would have been announced for 2 years and been on the market for over half a year

This was too predictable. I never really was interested in the series, but I did enjoy Bad Company 2 really much. Very fun game.

These versions of Battlefield will be multiple times what the Wii U can handle. It wouldn't be fair to put it on the console when its not dumbed down for the other consoles. Nintendo screwed themselves and they must live with it.

But its also on the Xbox 360 and PS3.. Its not really a matter of the Wii U not being capable of running it.

Is this a DICE decision or is it an EA decision? I need to know who I should criticize.

This is the most significant part of the whole thing. I think I even read the developers were looking to have BF4 working on Wii U.  I think EA really hates Nintendo.

Didn't say it's not better.  Or different.  It's still a military shooter with less than half the sales of CoD.  It is second fiddle.  Rockband was better than Guitar Hero, many people liked Sonic better than Mario. Regardless, one is iconic with name value, one much less.  Right now Wii U needs the name value titles to sell hardware.  The others will follow if there is money to be made.

That said, I do think not having Battlefield is significant because it will be graphically of high quality on next gen titles.  It's also one that easily could have been on Wii U if they wanted, unlike titles that were mostly done with PS360 in mind.

actually its not. by about a year ago it already had 15 million units sold. and EA expects it to each 18M by end of this quarter. battlefield is in no way a second fiddle game. and in no way is it not hugely devastating for the WiiU not to get it. its probably the 3rd or 4th biggest selling game in the world after CoD, GTA and probably Fifa. you cant say that its a second tier game because its in the same genre as CoD

Man the EA support for Wii U is almost as bad as the Capcom support for the Vita.

Now you're overexaggerating. WiiU got NFS and that is a decent port.

well-the difference is that nintendo is paying capcom for not supporting vita with eg monster hunter or castlevania but sony isn't paying EA.

Ugh... What's going on... Another game smiling the Nintendo Wii U? Is this gonna keep happening? Not that I care cuz I am a Sony PlayStation Gamer and not having games isn't my problem, I just feel bad watching this happen to the Company I grow up on. Oh well who is ready for that PS4 and what's up with that Final Fantasy for it!

Probably DICE. They didn't want to sacrifice the project (spread themselves too thin). That usually doesn't matter to EA

EA flat-out refused to let over Crysis 3, which was partly developed. Even if DICE did care, EA would make sure it didn't happen.

To be fair, Crysis 3 is a very advanced game graphically so it would probably take quite a bit of time to make a WiiU version (they had the engine up and running on PS3/360/PC already).

according to cevat yerli(crytec boss)neither EA nor Nintendo were interessted in a Crysis3 release, therefor you can't only blame EA
