I won't believe rumors not until Microsoft come out and say what the Next Xbox will be

We havn't really heard that from a reliable source but the PS Eye is pretty cheap. The next-gen version shouldn't be much more expensive. Definitley won't come close to Kinect in terms of price. My guess is Sony won't try to overengineer this and try to push it as the next big thing. They'll have it there for the video chat and voice commands. Plus the Move Support for games like Just Dance 5/6/7/8/9/10. Again, I expect both consoles to be very very similar in price. You won't see one being $400 and the other being $500. Sony isn't stupid ,they have competition and they will price match.

How can you say the PS Eye is cheap? Its specs are better than the current Kinect, so you can't just assume its cheap. Its still going to cost at least $50 - $75 to produce. Also, if Sony weren't pushing it, why did they have a 20 minute segment of their PS4 meeting dedicated to showing the it?

Well, you claim Sony aren't stupid, but then why did they make an expensive console? If Sony wanted to be succesful, I would think Sony would try to make a cheaper console and hope the strength of Playstation brand and exclusives would be strong enough to sell many units of the console.

That's not really answering the question is it. Furthermore, he doesn't use the words "ALWAYS CONNECTED" nor does he refer to being connected while away from the console. He only mentions when not using it.

Whats to answer?? You asked a question that I could answer anyway I want which would then take us in a circle jerk.  Instead I gave you proof of a simliar solution that does not meet your specification.

Why don't you tell me whats the difference because he doesn't have to use the same words for the actual solution to be the same.  If the console is in a low powered mode that allows it to upload and download from PSN, then its alwasy on, alwasy connected.  If you could show me a case why this is not the same instead of of telling me the words are not the same then that would be a better case.  Both the solutions do the same thing and unless specified are the same.  Trying to wring out extra meaning from always on, always connected is going more towards speculation than anything else.

What you are trying to do is find reason that MS would make a console require internet connectivity even though with the amount of XBL subscriptions compared to how many people own the console is only 25% of the customer base. MS is a business first and it doesn't even remotely make sense for them to require an internet connection to limit the penatration of their next consoles in peoples homes.  You can bet there will be DRM but it will be on the publishers just like it is now with Project 10 dollar and other such methods.

As mentioned before, the document gives an exact meaning of what always on, always connected means so there is no reason for me to extrapolate more than what is written.  There is no confusion and there is no opinion until MS says differently.

First, I never said it would require online, so I don't know why you're creating an unnecessary argument with me.
Second, you said you were just saying exactly what the article wrote. I asked you how you could be saying exactly what it wrote when the article says differently. Then you challenge me to explain, yet, I already have. The article explains that always connected refers to being connected online, and not in reference to "sleep mode", which is what YOU were saying the article espoused.

I have no problem with your argument, just don't step up and challenge what I'm saying when nothing you're are saying counters what I'm saying. Furthermore, you should try to be able to back up your arguments on your own instead of veering off with "ps4 is the same". My question was "how could ms be referring to sleep mode with 'always connected'. Your answer was "PS4 is doing the same thing". That's not a response.

Everything he has been saying has been countering what you have been saying

You and him have something in common with making vague, unprovable sentences. Let's see some examples, chum, or it's just going to be another case of pretending words have different meanings than they do.

Mach's first post that I questioned said "OP is stating exactly what the article was saying", yet you really weren't because like the argument we've already had, your interpretation requires that MS had to have misspoken and only mistakenly referred to "downloading while afk", and generally being redundant.

You think the article makes no mention of online. You believe the always on always connected slogan was a msitake of redundancy. You believe that referring to downloading means nothing about internet despite directly following the solitary "always connected". You believe you are stating EXACTLY what the article is saying.

I'm not going to argue with someone who believes in a paradox. How can you believe you are saying the same thing as the article when your interpretation relies on them having misspoken?

for example, woody, mach's first ost to me is talking about DRM though I never brought up DRM in the slightest. He's arguing against a point I have not taken.

So yeah "everything he's said is countering what you've said"
Hilarious. I must have alts, then, because what he's saying is countering things I've never said, yet he's quoting me.

MY argument, since you can't seem to pay attention, isn't "you're wrong", but, "how are you right considering x, y, and z".
I am the one who is saying exactly what the article said, yet I'm being framed as someone who said things about drm, etc.

PS Eye is nowhere near as power as the Kinect. Nowhere. Next-gen versionf of these devices I expect the gap in specs to widen again in Kinects favort and as a result, a higher price. The current PS Eye costs nowhere near $50 to produce as the current MSRP is only $40 and websites like Amazon marking it down to $20. If I had to guess what this thing costs to produce, I'd say $15. Now let's look at Kinect. The current MSRP is $110. I expect producting costs to be less than half so about $50. Expect a similar difference in cost and production next-gen.

@bold
THEY DIDN'T. WE STILL DON'T KNOW THE PS4 PRICE. Like I said before expect PS4 and the next XBox to be about the same price.

What are you trying to say here?  I have been very specific in what ive been saying so saying I'm being vague doesnt really match up too well for you.  Alsop he hasnt been vague either.  We have both ben very specific although you have been coming in here argueing and asking qestions etc.  As of right now you are not right, I am not right, and he is not right.  However he is right about it never one time saying that this is to block used games or that it requires connection to play. It is hinting at always connected and always online which would mean that IF you have xbox live it will always be connected to do updates and downloads.  Read it and tell me how it says other wise.

Not really sure what you are talking about as far as alts but Im not accusing you of anything.  You said that he isnt countering anything that you have been saying while he is.  You asked what it meant and he gave you his interpretation on it and now you seem all upset.  I will say that at least you are being smart about it unlike vgking though who has been known to give very biased opinions.

Well, according to the specs, it is. Its actually quite advanced with 3 camera's and 4 mic's. You can ready the discussion on Neogaf of "PS Eye = Kinect":

I do agree that the Kinect 2.0 will be expensive, but we don't know much about it yet, so saying it will be much more expensive than the PS Eye is a bit sillly.

The PS4 Eye will be closer in costs to the PS3 Eye than the Kinect. So between $15 and $50.

All we know for sure is that IF bundled these cameras will only add to the costs of these systems. As a consumer I'd love for these cameras to be optional and for MS/Sony to offer a "bare-bone" SKU without any sort of motion control crap.
