Forums - Nintendo - When will Nintendo wake up to the Wii U issues?

The WiiU clearly won't see the success the Wii did, but contrary to the article I think the WiiU will have some sort of a comeback once Mario Kart and 3D Mario release.

Yet Nintendo does deserve criticism for not making sure these titles were ready much closer to the console release and that will severly limit the lifetime performance of the WiiU (currently I think a good 40-50m should still be possible).

Personally I did believe 2D Mario could carry the WiiU much further than it did though.

The main issue with the Wii U is the machine itself and its core design, that can't be helped through any amount of software, price cuts or advertising. They screwed up on the design philosophy, as well as mostly everything else with this console, no one can say that this wasn't long in the coming (I know several people in here who called it when the console was first unveiled and details on the Gamepad started arriving).

Im beginning to think Nintendo's first partys are struggling with HD development.

They've openly admitted that, yes.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

afaik it was more of a "we profit a lot from HD development expertise of 3rd party developers in our collaboration games" during the january NDirect, which can be interpreted as Nintendo struggeling by themselves, if that's what Conegamer was talking about

It was in that ND, yes. They apologised for the delays of the games as well so it's pretty clear the problem is HD.

Also their biggest mistake was thinking ports of GREAT 3rd party games would sell the system. Sadly it did not so they kind of been caught in the drought.

Please fire Iwata!!!!!

First, it would be detrimental for Nintendo to fire Iwata, he has not been holding back the company with snide remarks about RPG fans and such like Yamauchi did. He has had an incredibly positive impact on Nintendo, and took them from last place to the most successful generation any videogame company has ever had. It's really irritating to see these sorts of ignorant remarks, and they hurt Nintendo and the image of the Industry overall.

On the Wii issues? Errr, perhaps you missed this way back in January:

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Question is though, how much of the DS and Wii was thanks to Iwata? I think Yamauchi deserves some of that credit, or am I totally wrong?

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Seriously, why is all this fuzz about the WiiU?

We all know that the console is struggling right now because it took a long time since launch to get new games and the launch was somehow rushed. and that´s all.
So far, it´s just ignorance and plain dumbness to say that they´re doing nothing. The system has some issues that they don´t deny, but they seem to be working on them, although in a slow pace. The Eshop catalog is growing, they´re offering almost all games on download format, a new updating is on the way. Three big games launched this month and a many others previously announced.
Fans just need a little patience, the console has not been on the market for even 05 months. Both PS3 and 360 also struggled on their first months, specially about those infinite updates. Nintendo will get things right eventually.
