I swear the exact same things were said about the Wii U.

In this regard, just as some say: "don't make something out of nothing", I will apply similar thinking - I wouldn't assume just becuase it was said of the WiiU that the PS4 will share its early misfortunes (quite early, in fact, given people shun the WiiU before the thing can even find a little footing). |
I wont say either way. I just want to give people a heads up that even if the PS4 launches better than the Wii U, there's no guarantee of them dominating the market.
I wouldnt be too sure about that you two

Which I did. Again, it wasn't for any personal gains, I wanted to see him back it up (as well as provide the topic something relevant, considering he had nothing from Jump St.). |
Happy now?

And why is that, my good sir? |
Sorry for the wait. Had to drive my wife to class.
Anyway, I am confident in saying that if Ps4 opens with good sales then it will sustain good sales unlike the Wii U. There will be a winner this gen and the winner will be determined by the consumers. If the consumers choose the Ps4 at launch then the Ps4 will be the winner. Just like this gen the consumers chose the Wii then the PS3 which can be seen by aligned launches. The ps3 has always trend higher than the 360 in that department meaning it had more consumers interested in it when it finally became availble.
As for the Ps4 vs Wii U. When the Ps4 launches and if it beats out the Wii U then that means consumers chose the Ps4 over the Wii U (like Ps3 vs the 360). The Wii U is like the 360 here and people aren't really choosing it over something else. They are simple choosing to buy new hardware and since their only choice is the Wii U right now they buy the Wii U. Hence the fizzle. Because not many people are choosing to just buy new hardware (probably for multiple reasons)
Now, I'm not gonna say the amount of consumers (total sales) will be equal to this gen because frankly I believe it will be down in hardware sales. Also, I'm not saying Ps4 will be the winner. All I'm saying is if the consumers decide to favor the Ps4 over the Wii U when it finally launches (and same applies to xbox) then it will be the winner of the gen.
Edit: I think this is the post that would be easier to understand having the conversation in person. And in person the person would be able to see what point I'm getting even though they may not completely agree... and I think this post's point is going to be completely missed on the internet

You proved yourself long ago, buddy. ;) While I already saw what Kowen provided before he posted it, he, at least, knows how to contribute something meaningful. |
Thank god at least one of us 3 knows how to.
It's funny how some are reading the title as "PS4 Pre-Orders Seeing 'Unprecedented Demand' - All Retailers and it will dominate next gen, everyone else is Doooommdeded"
Yes we can see who this retailer is and how long they have been around, it's in the article. Just because some are happy about this news doesn't mean any one is attacking your favorite company.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Yup, but it isn't just this retailer either. Gamestop said they have an unusual high amount of interest in Ps4 already even though the price hasnt been announced

Look it isn't about taking sides here or someone having a "mind". Its simply the fact that he never posted any evidence to back his claims (even if his claims were legitimate), be it because he couldn't be bothered or whatever reason. If he just posted the article like you did for him, we could have all agreed with him (given whatever the article says) and have negated this long conversation. The burden of proof lies with the accuser. Whether I go to find the article to form a better opinion of my own is a different matter altogether and is exclusive of the case mentioned above.
Anyway I'll stop derailing the topic any further. From what I gather if Shopto did state the same for Wii U then either it is simply building marketing hype or the Wii U did have some decent pre-orders at the time but later just dropped in sales. It's hard to judge without seeing some actual numbers for the PS4 pre-orders. When the Wii U SKUs were first announced in E3, retailers seemed to be reporting that they ran out of pre-orders. So yeah.
Wow....I see a lot of goal post moving and other stuff going on around here lately. More than just this site have said they are seeing HIGH demand for the PS4 which is a good thing. So this site gets downplayed because it is only 7 years old? Some of you really know how to nit and cherry pick to suit your views.
This SHOULD be expected since the PS4 was RECENTLY revealed and interest in it IS HIGH right now. So what's wrong with fans of SONY posting articles about it? I am sure when XBOX announces their next system they will get the same amount of hype/interest. And if fans of another system come in and say the same things that have been being said about SONY/Wii U they will get talked bad about. Sad stuff smh...
And lastly why is it that just because the Wii U was hyped up and is JUST NOW doing poorly(even though it had a VERY nice launch) that the PS4 will magically suffer the same fate? I just don't get some stuff that goes on around here. PR is PR and we KNOW this is what it is but that does not mean it is just completely false and has not even a little truth behind it. Geez folks....I am going to start my own personal Vgchartz hug club where I give out free hugs because sometimes I feel they are needed around here lol.
The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...
