I think the Nintendo split of 455k hw goes like this:

3DS - 170k (because 150k is the min needed to pass 8m per NIntendo's PR)

Wii - 130k (because Wii did almost 230,000 in Feb 2012, and it's been dropping by about 50% long term on a weekly basis)

DS - 90k (455k - Wii U - 3DS - Wii)

Wii U - 65k (based on rising 40-49% from Jan to Feb on a weekly basis, with Jan being 5 weeks and Feb being 4 weeks)

GC had a very impressive launch. Turns out in its first December it outsold pretty much every other console (PS3, 360, Wii, Wii U etc.) so that's not bad at all!

Gamecube did better than PS360 in it's first Dec? Awesome  

His point though was Feb NPD..definitely not higher than them, and so 65k is definitely not 'not bad'.

Xbox 360 (first February, NPD) - 160K
Xbox (first February, NPD) - 139K
PS3 (first February, NPD) - 127K
GameCube (first February, NPD) - 78K

 

Can't believe Sly charted in the SW chart. Should've released it at holiday time when it was ready, really.

I think those DS numbers are a little to high. The console is nearly dead

Also, if X360 is 41% of current gen consoles as MIcrosoft says, then 434,000 Wiis and PS3s sold - I figure 300,000 PS3s (down almost 17%) and 135,000 Wiis - down 50%. X360 is down 30%, so the other possibility is it's more like 280,000 PS3s and 155,000 Wiis.

its not fishy at all cause cause it's the norm, and i don't understand what you measn by doubled, it sold 57k in jan, it sold 65k, in feb, consoles always sell better in feb, with software or not.

The official statement is that it was up "over 40% weekly" from January. Since Jan had 5 weeks and Feb had 4.

So if the normal is 20% weekly with releases, and the Wii U is up 40% weekly with none, something isn't adding up right. That is NOT "the norm."

i'm not gonna keep explaining to you, it's the norm, go look at consoles sales, from jan to feb, there is always an increase, on every single console, doesn't matter if its 5 weeks cause people are broke from the holidays, it the norm, it folllowing the same trend, but what ever think what you want.

Stop turning everything into a ps vs xbox thing. Both are undertracked and that's both great.

the gap is pretty much close to zero at the moment. jack tretton said it. ps3 is around 77 million shipped by now.
