Well judging on the ps4 launch titles we've seen so far, its in a diiferent league to the Wii U. Square would not want a mainline FF to be held back by the Wii U, they've already shown their ambitions with next gen iterations with the Agni's philophy demo. Also having a console exclusives like FInal fantasy CC will do more to sell the system then having watered down ports of ps4/720 titles. At this point in time, I don't think the Wii U is in a position to compete with those next gen systems directly, but more sell itself as purchase you'll pick up along the way, or while you wait for ps4/720 to drop below $400. |
We have seen nothing on Wii U so far that pushes it, we have seen little software running on actual PS4 hardware, and the one title we saw in action, Killzone, could probably be done on WiiU as I don't think it actually pushes the evenutal true PS4 specs. I would say if you polled most WiiU owners they would say they would prefer a FFXV with a few less polygons than a cheap spin-off title. While there is no doubt significant difference in power between PS4 and Wii U, none of what you have posted here is based on fact.
FYI, FF: Chrystal Bearers sold a weak 360k on Wii as an exclusive, while the XBox360 port of FFXIII sold 2 million copies. I doubt Crystal Bearers moved a single Wii purchase, while I can say the availablity of FFXIII on 360 sold at least one box to one customer...me :)
WiiU doesn't need a lot of third party support. It just needs the AAA titles. Deus Ex or other mid-level titles aren't going to do well on a system that has Marios and Zeldas. 3rd party publishers should be only porting top titles to Nintendo platforms but instead they have been doing the opposite and being met with failure. That seems to be changing with Wii U, with Watch_Dogs, AC4, COD and possibly Destiny on their way.
