Its called not being a handheld. Sony is much better at selling hardware than they are at convincing the general public that they should buy a handheld. Sony was the first to make the gaming console into a media hub and the Playstation took off ever since.

What does nes, snes, n64, gc, and wii have to do with anything.
The topic is about PSV and PS4. I just re-read the topic again to make sure and he did not mention anything besides those two systems. |
Works like this.
Sony= Console > Portable
Nintend= Portable > Console.
This is how its always been check the sales. Nintendos portables have always been their moneymaker whilst the consoles have been the money maker for Sony.
1. All Sony studios or all big Sony studios are developing games for it.
2. Third party support.
3. It's a PS console.
The success of the PS1/2/3. The PS4 is expected to follow in the foot steps pf its predecessors and once again become a 100 million hardware seller, be the market leader and have a 10 year life plan.

The ps3 hasn't yet passeed the PSP so that is up for debate. You're only as good as your last console, game, song, anything really. Agree with the 3rd party support. It will do better than the Vita, How could it not.
It will do better than Vita. Sony has a much better reputation with home consoles than portables, though it has been tranished somewhat with the PS3. We will see to what extent with the PS4. One thing Sony has in its favor is its cinema style games fit much better with a home console than on a small handheld screen. Its games are meant to be played on a large HD set with surround sound and in long sessions. Handheld gaming doesn't really mix with any of these qualities, which is part of the reason Vita is performing so badly. It is theater-style gaming on a pocket device. Though I think PS4 is going to come with its own issues, the main one being price. While I think PS4 will out perform Vita, it won't be by as great a margin as most people assume.

This does not make any sense its not out yet it has no fanbase it is a different thing as a PS3 so you cant just say its the same fanbase. And there is no well established 3rd party support yet its on its way but its not there yet.
Just to let you know there was Vita third party support COD etc and then they "gave up". And just rushed out the games so they dont waste any more money in developing it thats why the games ended up shitty.
