I usually have the game muted and listen to my own music. :P
It's the trendy hipster thing to claim that graphics are unimportant, but you couldn't be more wrong.
Graphics are immensely important in the eyes of the average consumer.

You are wrong to say others are wrong. There is no right or wrong on this topic, only personal taste. Different people value different things in games, that's why not everyone buys the same game.

Music is more important!
I even bought my $2000 sound system before I even had a good TV etc.
For me music/sound are more important than the graphics/video.
Music can have an impact on the feeling you have in a scene even if the game is 8bit graphics. It can also plausibly be used to change the mood within a second.
Graphics are used to explain what is going on in general but music/sound is filling the scene with "life".
To bad that alot of times the music is just being created for the sake of creating music with no connetion to the scenery etc..
P.S. a good example for how music can change your mood is the Majoras Mask clock town music you know that the game is becoming more "hectical on day 2 and more dangerous on day 3" even tho you dont see anything in the video
Its bad quality but everyone who remembers that game should know what I mean.
Day 3 starts at 2:35

I'm talking about the average consumer. Obviously that doesn't include everyone. Individuals are entitled to their own opinions.

I don't know the Zelda "theme" or soundtrack sorry. And aside from the Super Mario Bros. first level theme I can't remember any music in Mario either. Super Mario Land had a few songs I memorized back in the days, but they are long forgotten by now.

A shame that I can't find a survey about this topic. Would've been nice to see.

I hope you enjoy it my friend

Oh yeah I know that. But see I can't remember them unless I play or hear them.
In one hour I will have forgotten everything of it again.
Both are equally important to me. I think music is highly underrated though, a lot of games wouldn't be the same if it wasn't for the music.
