Since I had a fun time making a top 50 movie of all time list.  I might as well share my list of my top 50 from a decade where I almost watched every major movie so here is my top 50 movie of the 1980's list:

...

20. Lethal Weapon (1987) Mad Max 2 the Road Warrior 1981

21. Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) Mad Max 3 Beyond Thunderdome 1985

...

Did not includ Mad Max 1 because it was released in Australia in 1979(USA 80)

Never watched a Mad Max movie all the way through.  Most of the movies on my list I watched numerous times.  I do think that "We don't need Another Hero" is one of the best movie songs from the 80's.

 Wir Kinder von Bahnhof Zoo,

im so proud of myself :*D

finally someone lists that movies besides me lol

And that from watching a 360p You Tube video on the pc, not quite how I'm used to watching movies.
I'm going to watch Wheels on meals soonish.

What's up with The quiet earth?

I remember seeing it a long time ago and wanted to see it again, but I got the wrong movie. I got The day the earth stood still as I couldn't remember the title before.
Now I see it listed new for over $100 on dvd, $40 for a used vhs tape.

The theme reminds me of a comedy I saw almost 10 years ago, called Nothing from the director of Cube. Also one of those movies that stick in the back of your mind.

Back on topic, 80s. Mad max is due for a tv marathon again imo. It's been a while since I've seen them and I'm not sure anymore what happened in what movie. Always entertaining.

If i were to make a list it would look exactly the same, great taste!

i just love sci fi movies like quit earth kinda reminds me of A Space Oddysey..

wheels on meals probably has one of the best end fight scenes ever Jackie vs The Jet and like almost every of his movies they are funny  ..there isnt such thing as a great story in his movies but they are unique in a way... especially the trio that appears Jackie Chan ,Sammo Hung , Yuen Biao..if you like this movie with them then you should also see Dragons Forever and Project A.

Tsubasa Ozora

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.

Watched The Quiet Earth on Youtube yesterday pretty good movie beautifuly shot can see why Peter Jackson hired the director to work for him on the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.  Also read the synopsis of the book its based on Wikipedia it looks like its even better despite the fact that the female character barely appears in the book.  Also watched Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia for the first time yesterday not quite as good as The Wild Bunch but would make my top 50 movies of the 70's list.

Nice list :)

I'm not a huge fans of the 80s when it comes to movies, but it sure had some gems.

My short list:

Raging Bull
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
Grave of the Fireflies
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Blade Runner
My Dinner with Andre
Glory
The Empire Strikes Back
Say Anything...
Raising Arizona
Kagemusha
Ran

Nice list even though I think some john carpenter movies deserve some shine
