Blowguns? What is this madness!
And it's all well everyone signing up, but are people actually joining each other to hunt, I wonder..

I will as soon as I can get the tv to myself. Damn you Capcom for no gamepad play.

Isn't it coming in a future update, though?

hope so - not heard.

Yes.

Just started playing this game, after having put hundreds of hours into MH3.

Question: is it possible to play this game with the Wiimote + Nunchuk? That was my favorite control method on Wii, and it seems they ditched it.

Seems so, sadly. Although the only thing i really don't like about the current control scheme is having "use item" mapped to Y. Y is too accessible, and i still occasionally accidentally use an item instead of equip my weapon. Fortunately it hasn't been a very important item, like a trap, yet.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me make a rathian complete set of armor?
if anyone would be willing too help me out, i would appreciate it very much.
i also will help out anyone i can, when i am online.
take care :)

Okay, ow.

I was beginning to feel like this game was seriously nerfed. Barroth was easy, Rathian was cake, Lagombi was a joke, Lagiacrus was a pushover. Just fought Duramboros to get my Shaka minion back and he cleaned my clock.

I went in with a Peco axe, a stack of mega potions, and a couple max potions. I drank them all and barely beat that bastard with less than 5 mins left and half a health bar. I have found The Hard, and it really hurts. Time for me to farm up some better gear.

Glad to hear there's still difficulty for the seasoned players!

Had a similar experience with Duramboros, though after that the difficulty curve seemed to die down again...until Brachydios, which took me 47 minutes and two faints.  Next time I'll come suitably prepared (antiseptic useful for a change).

So far I'm not liking this game at all. Capcom nerfed it. Tri was much better.

It seems you cannot kill Kelbi's in this game anymore. Every attack, even a slice with the Great Sword, just knocks them out. How can I ever get pelts then?

Also, some attacks seem to have been removed from the game. The backwards Great Sword attack? No way to do it with the gamepad it seems.

Many mining areas have been removed as well. Why??

Or am I missing something here?

I can't speak to the greatsword attack.

Kelbis were stun them > carve them in Tri, just like they are now. It was weird then and it's weird now, especially when you get a hide or a chunk of meat.

Actually, I think they've added more mining nodes, but their appearance also feels more random. Gathering and collecting materials seems generally easier. I remember farming a lot more to get a full equipment set, now it seems like it only takes 3 or 4 kill/captures to get suited up. I'm pretty okay with this change.

I think Capcom's thought process went like this. Say it took you 100 hours to kill every monster in Tri. Should MH3U take 200 hours to complete? 100 hours? Even if the answer is somewhere in the middle, that means killing at least some of the monsters is going to have to be easier. I feel like I'm tearing through the game compared to Tri, but I haven't even killed 25% of the large monsters yet.

As a seasoned veteran I can also say that Duramboros is an absolute pain to beat.  That thing just takes forever to kill.  I can't wait for the G difficulty.
