Voyager, probably because I grew up with it. Every thursday me, my brother and my Dad would sit down and watch Voyager with a big bowl of licorice allsorts. Ah, the memories.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure Jeri Ryan single handedly triggered the onset of puberty for me.

I'm still working through all the series so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
The original series is still the best. The actors had great on-screen chemistry, the writing was bold, intelligent, and culturally significant, and the episodes are some of the greatest ever filmed -- Balance of Terror, Amok Time, Shore Leave, The Devil in the Dark, etc. Plus TOS gave us The City on the Edge of Forever, the best and most transcendent Trek episode.

DS9 was easily the worst though its ship to ship battles in later series were great and Enterprise was very good but had some weak arcs that dragged (like Trip/T'pol). Viewing them now, I'd rather watch Enteprise followed by TOS/Voyager, DS9 and finally TNG. This is not an order of quality, but the TNG episodes are less entertaining after 20 years of re-runs, while the other series tend to get more action which keeps repeats views more entertaining. |
I agree with you for the most part. Due to my age and having only basic tv(ABC NBC CBS) growing up Iwas never able to watch any of them as they aired. I first started watching TNG reruns and I see your point about rewatching them. I liked DS9s second half more than the first, I think because of more action and the charecters (Worf, Martok, and Weyoun). Enterprise was a shame, being cancelled.

Kinda made you wish you were the one helping her regain her 'humanity' lol. Oh Jeri Ryan....
Very close call between Voyager and the next gen. Dont think i can choose between them
never saw TOS so my pick is TNG

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.
I also grew up with the moderny-era Star Treks (TNG/DS9/Voyager). They were literally on rotation on British TV growing up, so I have pretty vivid memories of watching all of them.
"The best" is probably TNG, but my actual favourite would be Voyager. It's just a little bit more lightweight and easier to watch, in my opinion.
TNG was my favorite, by far.
I watched all of Voyager three or four years ago and it's not a bad show in it's own right. There are some pretty spectacular Voyager episodes. It get's better after season 1 & 2 just like TNG.
