To be fair, most of these discussions don't reveal that atheists are dumb, only evil and without purpose and morals.

OT: I'd say; "Morgan Freeman, nice to finally meet you!"

Yeah Morgan Freeman a man of faith.  Faith in Science.

Kind of Ironic that the guy who fits the god role best is an Atheist....

I'd rather have Richard Dawkins as god, to be honest. Or perhaps James Randi.

Richard Dawkins might be a good fit. The rational mind of an Atheist makes for a better God than anything Religion came up with imo, reading the stuff Gods do reminds me of a child playing with ants and a magnifying glass.

God, do you have a God? Who created you? Does your god have a god? Does your god's god have a god?

Also, how many turtle shells does it take to hold up the earth? Where do the turtle shells come from and how big are they? What happened to the turtles? Are they all dead? Do they get to go to a turtle heaven or hell or do they just cease to exist as an entity once they die and their shells are used
 to support the earth?

Could we ever have a religious thread on VGC that doesn't boil down to "Atheist are dumb" or "religious people believe in fairy tales"?.

Forgot that one too. I know religion is a sensitive and polirizing topic, but no one does their own belief any credit/favour by blindly attacking people who believe differently from what they do. Nor does anyone have the right to force their beliefs down anyone's throats (Oosnap threads come to mind).

I think he might be a simple troll, he makes a flame topic, often religious and then simply runs off not wanting to actually discuss much himself.

You're right though, religion is a sensitive topic.

Most Athiests that I have encountered have an IQ of maybe a kinder gardener so I wouldn't lump them in the same boat as high Intelligence people.

^This.

Most Athiests I know are usually either, weirdos, emos, pseudo intellectuals, or people that are asocial or generally bitter.

My theory is that they don't have much of a social life, so they adopt the role of the person that sticks out like a sore thumb.  In this, they feel like they're smarter than everyone else who follows convention, because they don't.  Much like a hipster.  Most of these people I talk to about these things usually don't put any stock in what they advocate.    O__O

Took me about 1 second reading your post to figure out that you're a teenager, the way you look at someone's world and life view as something that is adopted to fit in or change their social status is frankly very immature.

I'l tell you a little secret: Fitting in and being cool might seem very important in high school but you will realise it isn't worth crap in real life. Someone's religous views or theory's of life are so much bigger and important than social aspects like trying to look better in the eye's of other, that it's actually insulting to even compare the two.

Really?  You act as if I just judged every atheist with that post. I said most of the ones I know.  Like I've stated, most of the kids I know seem to have no knowledge in religion at all.  And it's pretty obvious they just adopt this just because they see others doing it. I would ask them "How come you don't believe in a God?" (Specifically not alluding to the Christian god.) They would never give me any decent answers at all.  They wouldn't even use philosophical or scientific matters.  It was clearly a choice with no real substantial reasoning, as I don't think any of them actually knew anything on the matter.  They probaby weren't very religious to begin with.  So of course you can easily give up something that you never really had any deep connection with to begin with.

Basically if you discovered he was real? Any questions before he tossed you in a firey pit for 10,000 years?

I would like to see people post what is an appropriate set of things to say, do, and believe now, in order that, when there would be a judgement day, such being revealed would of been the appropriate situation to be demonstrated.  What you have regarding Jesus and the final judgement is this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sheep_and_the_Goats

What if it is found to be the measure is what people did with those in need?  What if the religious go up, fans of Jesus, and thinking he is awesome, who didn't get what Jesus told him, but adored him and they are cast in darkness, while the genuinely seeking atheist, who struggled with belief, was humbled and did seek to live by the teachings of Jesus, is let in?  Pretty much the former blinded themselves on purpose and the later just couldn't break through?

In short what does the believe say to God who just didn't get the message but was sold a bill of goods by certain proselytizing American religion types who blinded them to the actual message?

If god existed. God obviously gave us a choice to not believe him/her/it. So why would god condemn people who didn't believe in the first place?

He's kind of a jerk like that. Or have you not read the Bible?

No. And I wouldn't even care if I went to hell.

Who are you? Sam Winchester from season 6 of Supernatural?   What makes you so sure that Hell will be an ideal place to be?  I mean it's probably worse than having to eating your own genitals all day long. You're excited about it?
