Yeah I'm not interested in Gears of War. That's why I'm taking time to come in this thread and comment about how much I don't care just like half the people in this thread.

I mean so many of us don't care I'm shocked this thread has as many replies as it does. Though I guess it makes sense, after all we have to make it clear guys how much we dont care.

I love the Gears universe. Unless Microsoft can build a better secondary exclusive to Halo than Gears I suggest they do it quickly.

A re-mastered 1080p 60fps collection for the PS4 would be a nice start

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

I sure would enjoy the internet if this series was ever announced to go multiplat. I would spend days surfing the internet reading random meltdown threads. Am I a sadistic?

isnt gears of war like the last 3rd party exclusive left? its also become a big exclusive for xbox so its 50/50. playstation already has plenty of exclusive, so gears should stay exclusives to xbox. xbox needs it.

Microsoft pretty much f'ed up with its exclusives. They had to make a new team, just to save Halo, and now they need to do the same to save Gears, but in this case, they don't own the IP, so they have to buy that too. I think Gears:J will be important, because if that's successful, they'll have to get whole thing, before it's too late. It will cost them a lot of money to buy such a huge IP, and a team (buying People Can Fly would be the logical step).

And where their other IPs stand? Alan Wake will probably go multiplat, and I don't think they would pay for a 1m franchise. Besides that they've got Forza and Fable, and some old IPs like Crackdown and PGR, and a bunch of Rare stuff. Their strategy was successful in this gen, but I don't think it will be on the long term.

I dont think Sony would pay that much for Gears at this point but would MS pay anything to keep it exclusive? Word is MS has like 4 new IP's in the works for 720. Granted they might be like 3 kinect 2.0 games and another generic FPS, but they will have new franchises next gen.

With Gears J low preorders MS might see it a series on the decline and not care about losing it as and exclusive. I dont think it made that big a deal for Sony to lose FF13 since most people with both consoles still purchased it on PS as sort of a legacy title. Gears will always be associated with the xbox and MS but at the begining of a gen it might be important since most people will have to choose a system and wont have both.

I would buy a 1080p upscaled Gears trilogy on PS4 if it came out. For the the record I thought Gears 1 and 2 were overrated but Gears 3 is one of my top 5 games this gen. The gameplay and graphics jump from 2 to 3 was huge IMO and is an awesome epic game with lots of MP options and staying power.

I really dont care much about the franchise, but if EPIC optimizes it so that the graphics are a stellar showcase, I might buy it. Hopefully they will use the Unreal Engine 4 with it XD

What's wrong with saying we don't care?

None of us put it that blunty, we gave our reasons.

Meh. There have already been 4 games, I probably won't be interested in buying another. The series has run its course.

That's sort how I feel about it and its a poitn I've made before. Unlike Halo wehere there were loose strings and plot gaps they could exploit, Gears wiped out the antagonist faction at the end of the trilogy meaning they can't really take it forward in the timeline post Gears 3. That leaves them with prequels, spin-offs, remakes. Only one that would interest me is a setting in the Pendulum Wars era where the first Locust leave New Hope and settle in the Hollow, and how they esablish themselves prior to E-Day and the cause and development of their hatred of humanity.
