Even on Vita COD sold far more units than on Wii U,and the Vita version is crap and great games like Batman haven't sold more than 100000 units.

No Wonder 3rd parties aren't developing games for Nintendo as their games are ignored by Nintendo gamers.
The only thing they don't ignore is when games like rayman are delayed, though they wouldn't have bought them .

Would be interessting to find out wether 3rd parties are selling more games on Vita than on 3ds.

The difference between the Wii U and Vita COD is that the Vita version is different from the console version. So COD fanboys, and Vita owners desperate for a game bought Black Ops: Declassified, even though its terrible.

You mean there are no WiiU-COD Fanboys and no Wii U owners desperate for a game?even not now-i don't think so.

There was no desperation at that time when COD was released-there was enough game support at that time AND I'm pretty sure a vita-version of the far superior BO2 would have sold 3x more units than declassified did.

BTW-the NSMB Wii U version is not far away from a port but sold more than a milliontherefor I don't think it has so much to do wether it was released for ps360 or not,as BO2 was almost simoultanously released for Wii U and good Wii U ratings bett((er sales could have been expected(I"m pretty sure activision would never have released this games expecting such low sales)

Comparing NSMB Wii u/Nintendoland sales with Monster Hunter Wii u(barely 200k) there is also a pretty huge gap considering how strong MH is in japan.

I think the lack of 3rd party support is more than just a"ea hates nintendo" conspiracy.

IMO most of Wii U owners right know are not soccer moms but qmultiplatform gamers(not nintendo only fanboys) and those guys usually buy the versions for the newest system because they wanna play with the new toy.Why don 't they play multipfg with the new toy(wii u)though the Wii u versions are superior?

Imo=achievements/trophys.people like some rewards for playing a game, since they got used to that sort of candy. They don't get it from the Wii U,they play the ps360 version.btw-with trophys/achievements people play more and longer, they won't cry so fast for new games.

they should put some rewards like medals, jewels or even dogpoo in different colors,to attract people.I'd really like to have a dogpootrophy for reaching all stars in a Mario 3d game as this is real hard.

The Wii U version of Black Ops 2 came out a few days after the other platforms, so the COD fanboys likely got it on other platforms. Wii U owners were not desperate for a game at the time. A good BO2 on Vita would not sell 3x it's current sales, that would be an almost 50% attach rate. Also, NSMBU is not a port, it's just a different game that uses the same formula. The multiplatform Wii U owners buy the non Wii U versions because they likely have friends that also got the game, and don't own a Wii U.

The LEGO Action Platformers sell good on Nintendo.

CoD3 on Wii significantly outsold the PS3 version iirc. Activision not releasing MW on Wii held the systems FPS potential back.

Star Wars and Resident Evil games have always done well with Nintendo.

With the Wii, the simple problem wasnt that 3rd party games didnt sell well. It was that 3rd parties barely put any effort into the console for those games to sell well... They werent given the chance.

RE4 Wii Edition sold over 2 Million units, proving that the audience was there for a survival horror game. Instead of a RE5 port though, Wii got on-rails FPS. Those games even sold well, but no RE5. Oh, dont forget DS: Extraction, too.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl has sold over 10 Million units, proving that there is an audience for fighters - No Street Fighter, no Tekken, no DoA, no MK, no Soul Calibur, etc.

3rd parties instead used the Wii as a profit machine to fund the big HD games. With no cheap, casual console this generation I think we will see a lot of developers go the way of THQ.

I thought BO2 was getting a lot of shit right before/during the Wii U release because it was inferior. There were multiple comparison videos and screens showing this. Now all of a sudden it's not a gimped port?

Anyways, if I was Activision I would also be worried that I can't make games that appeal to the owners of the console.

That's exactly the problem. It is very hard for any game that is not Mario-related to sell on a Nintendo consoles. There are obvious reasons for that.

That must be why Zelda, Wii ____, Just Dance, Skylanders, Monster Hunter, Sonic, Goldeneye, and pre-MW3 COD all failed to sell on Wii... :p

There are exceptions to everything. I just used Mario as an example since it is the most notable Nintendo IP.

Lastly, the initial release had Wii-mote controls that were worse than the Wii COD games, making them rather unusable in competitive games, something that was only properly patched about a month ago.

How could they even mess that up? MW3 and Black Ops on Wii had very good Wiimote setups, all they had to do was copy-paste that, and it'd automatically be better on BO2 thanks to the higher framerate.

It's true. In fact most third party games and software numbers in general are bad. Even 3ds is not selling the software numbers Nintendo wanted.

Nintendo fans are hypocrites and generally terrible people.

So true. I just learned that there's a certain Nintendo fan who bought NSMBU three months ago and has yet to give it a serious go. Absolutely disgusting.

Is that because of the story?

On second thought, it's probably because he wants to try his best at supporting third parties. By not playing NSMBU he keeps his expectations and standards for Wii U software low on purpose which in turn makes him more acceptant of third party software.

He is a good man and a true saint. Someone has to buy the next Assassin's Creed, after all.

I mean... it can't possibly be worse than the third-party situation on the PS Vita, which is over a year old now.

From what I've read, he probably will. The need for more patches for ACIII doesn't seem to bother him too much... yet.

Eh, anyone who had an HD console last generation, or a PC for the past two generations, already knows the game's likely just a beta until at least eight months post-release. Nintendo's just finally now joining modern times, like we all wanted.

Yep.  3DS software sales outside of Japan are terrible.  Even big first-party games are struggling to maintain positions in the charts.
