On second thought, it's probably because he wants to try his best at supporting third parties. By not playing NSMBU he keeps his expectations and standards for Wii U software low on purpose which in turn makes him more acceptant of third party software.

From what I've read, he probably will. The need for more patches for ACIII doesn't seem to bother him too much... yet.

Eh, anyone who had an HD console last generation, or a PC for the past two generations, already knows the game's likely just a beta until at least eight months post-release. Nintendo's just finally now joining modern times, like we all wanted.
