Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Sports with Wiimote+ bundle is needed

This would help bring some casuals back and give everyone another Wiimote+ (I'm mainly talking about just game and Wiimote+ bundled together not the system but this could be a system bundle too).  If they could release this along with Wii Fit U, Mario Kart, and a few other IPs they should be able to start getting momentum (especially during the holiday season).

Not sure if that would work as it needs to be a new experience. But this holiday will be a defining moment.

Will WiiU rebound like 3DS and regain consumer and 3rd party confidence?
Will it be destroyed by its competition and end up worse than Gamecube in total sales?

See us in 2014 for the answer!

So true, I think nintendo can get a lot of casual gamers back if they do this. + the fact that wii sports resorts is kick ass at parties :p

To bad this wont work :-/, why spend 350 dollars on an experience they already had/ currently still have?

Their Wii series of games is akin to their touch! generation series of games, broad appeal before, not so now.

Yeah, let's confuse the market even more with a game that needs another controller.

There probably will be a Wii U Sports bundle at some point.

But I don't think it's a savior concept. What did Nintendogs and Brain Training do for the 3DS?

The thing about Wii Sports that made it so big was it was so unique for it's time.

But it's an idea that's also had its time. Much like Guitar Hero and the above mentioned Nintendogs and Brain Training. People want something new. Nintendo thought that would be Nintendo Land.

They were wrong. That's the risky thing about being in the fad business ... a lot of it is just dumb luck and the right timing. There's not much logic behind it.

I disagree with this. Wii Sports was a great new concept that deserved its success.

Also, didn't Nintendogs sell 3 Million+ Worldwide? It obviously helped sell systems.

*Edit* 2.9 Million. My point remains.

The 3DS wasn't helped much by Nintendogs, yes Nintendogs + Cats crawled its way to barely 3 million, but that's not impressive given the DS version sold 23+ million copies and triggered a pronounced rise in DS hardware sales from its release. That's a huge drop off.

3DS had a horrible launch on the back of Nintendogs + cats indicated as a mass market phenomenon its time (much like Brian Training and Guitar Hero and probably soon enough, Just Dance) was over.

As I said. Nintendo needs the gimmicks.

I think Wii U Sports would be a great idea as long as it was really good. It could trigger some 5 year old nostalgia.
